i agree it will probably contam and these were all done with just coir and they seem fine to me

Any grain or grain derived product cannot be used as a bulk substrate. It is too easily digested by contaminants and will ruin everything.

So straight coir has worked for you yes?  Is coir not having enough nutrition an old misconception?

So if I was to do a:
1) layer of verm
2) layer of colonized grain
3) layer of coir
4) layer of verm
...in a mini mono, that would work?

Mix your colonized grain with the coir thoroughly to make alot of inoculation points. It'll help colonized faster

yes it is close enough for me too poo jsut more expencive
