Kirk Cameron, best known for his role in the 1980s sitcom Growing Pains, now spends much of his time advocating for far-right Christian evangelical causes.
In a video posted recently to YouTube, Cameron lays out a plan to subvert 'Darwin Day' on November 22, 2009 -- a date marking the 150th anniversary of the publishing of Charles Darwin's "Origin of Species." Cameron says that he and like-minded activists plan to deliver 50,000 copies of an altered version of Darwin's book to students at dozens of U.S. universities.
Cameron explains that this "very special" edition of the "Origin of Species" will include an introduction explaining "Adolf Hitler's undeniable connection" to the theory of evolution, and highlighting "Darwin's racism" and "his disdain for women." Cameron's edition also exposes the "many hoaxes" of evolutionary theory, while presenting a "balanced view of Creationism."

What did you expect him to be doing? Curring cancer???  He was on Growing Pains. 20 years ago!!!

The fact that he's not dead of a drug overdose is impressive in itself.

Oh its true - just a simple Google search will take you to Kirk Camerons website and his ministry's web site as well as numerous stories.  Huffington Post's sources are definitley suspect and its 99.9999% op ed  - but its not the Onion.

I guess it is, I just saw Huffington Post and assumed it to be fake, since it sounded pretty ridiculous :lol:

Much of the video is complete bullshit, though. I think they're being very misleading when referencing the fossils. I don't think that any of them really have any clue about how DNA actually functions.

His main argument is that a bunch of scientists were Christian and that Hitler agreed with Darwin. Also, we get to conveniently neglect any of the Christian scientist's view towards race and women, so the message is basically that if you agree with the church you can do/say anything you want and not be remembered badly by history. Let's all pray that Christianity has far less influence when GWB is being outlined by the history books.

it's got a comedic edge maybe, and gets a bit hyperbolic at times, but huffington indeed reports the truth.  a full on satire, it is not.

I've seen a number of articles that are more than a bit hyperbolic. Too many times have I seen HP stories on the front page of digg, being taken as fact, that were completely fabricated for the lulz.

i know. a few years back i watched that show in syndication, its an alright show, but he isnt that great which means he aint doing shit now
