I doubt it just because aloe isn't food. If they made Cardboard Cola that tasted like rainbow unicorn farts I wouldn't drink that either.

"There have been relatively few studies about possible benefits of Aloe gel taken internally, yet it has been found to be anti-carcinogenic.[citation needed] Data also suggest that components of Aloe inhibit tumor growth.[6] There have been some studies in animal models which indicate that extracts of Aloe have a significant anti-hyperglycemic effect, and may be useful in treating Type II diabetes. These studies have not been confirmed in humans.[7]"

Right there. They eat alot of nastiest in Asia, like snake penis. I'm not following those trends. Maybe I'm intolerant, but if your culture has tiny dog or snake penis on the menu, I'd denounce it and move far, far away.(ban me China, I'll only grow stronger and controll your masses) jk on all counts, though I dunno if I could resist stabbing a dog eater through the face. It's prolly a refreshing drink though, but the rainbow unicorn farts still stand.

Maybe my prejudice comes from eating that aloe goo. In retrospect, even that was better then coconut milk

and also

http://ezinearticles.com/?Aloe-Vera-Juice-Benefits&id=493064

"The health benefits of aloe vera taken internally include: improved circulation, regulation of blood pressure, promotes healing of bones and joints, strengthens the immune system, defends the body against bacteria, heals internal tissue damage, heals ulcers, improves and even eliminates constipation, blood sugar regulation, and reduces itchiness in psoriasis helping it to heal.

Drinking two to four ounces a day is all that is required to gain the many benefits of aloe vera juice. If you drink it daily, aloe vera can aid your digestion, improve your circulation and detoxify your body and cleanse your colon."

I'll stick with tea. Obscure news articles on the internet are good enough to pull questionable facts from for conversation and school work, I'm weary about the net though. Too much fad food and diet. I mean, ma ate bacon all the time on Atkins. I'd rather have a link to scientific literature. I don't doubt it's safe in reality(though I'm tired, so my posts are turning to mush), though the benefits could easily be misconstrued. Second hand info is only good in the hands of a professional.

That aloe drink is the best on the market. There are hundreds of aloe drinks out there. They have them in Canada, The US, Mexico, South America, Asia, etc; each country having it's own brands. Even Trader Joe's sells an aloe drink. I have a huge jug of it in the fridge.

I remember a lady behind me in the checkout line looked at my aloe drink in shock and horror "what do you use that for? I thought it was for topical treatment!" I then explained to her that it does the same thing for your insides that it does for your outsides. It helps heal damage in the esophagus, stomach, intestines, etc.

People have been ingesting the stuff for tens of thousands of years.

Are you going to deny that just because you were raised in a culture where it wasnt common place?

Quote:
The aloe vera plant has a long history of healing power. Its ability to heal burns and cuts and soothe pain has been documented as far back as the 10th century. Legend has it that Cleopatra used aloe vera to keep her skin soft. The modern use of aloe vera was first recognized the 1930s to heal radiation burns. Since then, it has been a common ingredient in ointments that heal sunburn, minor cuts, skin irritation, and many other ailments.
Recently, aloe vera has gained some popularity as an active ingredient in tooth gel. Similar to its use on skin, the aloe vera in tooth gels is used to cleanse and soothe teeth and gums, and is as effective as toothpaste to fight cavities, according to the May/June 2009 issue of General Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry's (AGD) clinical, peer-reviewed journal.

Aloe vera tooth gel is intended to perform the same function as toothpaste, which is to eliminate pathogenic oral microflora—disease-causing bacteria—in the mouth. The ability of aloe vera tooth gel to successfully perform that function has been a point of contention for some dental professionals. However, research presented in General Dentistry may alleviate that concern. The study compared the germ-fighting ability of an aloe vera tooth gel to two commercially popular toothpastes and revealed that the aloe vera tooth gel was just as effective, and in some cases more effective, than the commercial brands at controlling cavity-causing organisms.

Aloe latex contains anthraquinones, which are chemical compounds that are used in healing and arresting pain because they are anti-inflammatory in nature. But, because aloe vera tooth gel tends to be less harsh on teeth, as it does not contain the abrasive elements typically found in commercial toothpaste, it is a great alternative for people with sensitive teeth or gums.

But buyers must beware. Not all aloe vera tooth gel contains the proper form of aloe vera. Products must contain the stabilized gel that is located in the center of the aloe vera plant in order to be effective. Products must also adhere to certain manufacturing standards. Dilip George, MDS, co-author of the study, explains that aloe "must not be treated with excessive heat or filtered during the manufacturing process, as this destroys or reduces the effects of certain essential compounds, such as enzymes and polysaccharides." Dr. George suggests that consumers consult non-profit associations such as the International Aloe Science Council to see what products have received the organization's seal of quality.

Although there are more than 300 species of the plant, only a few have been used for medicinal purposes. "Thankfully, consumers with sensitive teeth or gums have a number of choices when it comes to their oral health, and aloe vera is one of them," says AGD spokesperson Eric Shapria, MS, DDS, MAGD, MA. "If they are interested in a more alternative approach to oral hygiene, they should speak with their dentist to ensure that it meets the standards of organized dentistry, too."

You're kind of a fuck tard. You couldn't resist stabbing a dog eater through the face?

What about cow eaters, chicken eaters, and pig eaters? Should we stab all of those who eat meat as well?

People evolved to eat dogs very much like how people evolved to eat snails (France) and guinea pigs (Central and South America). In their pertaining area, those certain meats are an ample supply of nutrition to the indigenous people. Just because you are so used to your little world of fairies and unicorns and gay buttsex does NOT mean that everyone in the rest of the world is too. Everyone has a background; a culture; an identity. To look down upon others solely because of differences in social preferences is a bit rude and, quite frankly, ignorant.

Bru, I don't know WHAT they do to make that shit taste good, but we in South Africa have a saying: Alwyn bitter. Translated: Aloe bitter. a tiny little bit of it is 1000 times worse than Ayahuasca! What ever they do to make it taste good, damn, I'd like to use that for ayahuasca, since then ayahuasca will taste great.

Damn, aloe... Get some fresh aloe and just eat a 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch peace of flesh (or less even.) and tell me that you didn't regret it in a millisecond...

Actually, the drinks are not bitter at all.  Kinda tastes like a really smooth grape juice.  in fact I was convinced it was grape flavored aloe, but the ingredients told me different.

Just give it a try  you will see.

EDIT: and centre, it has sugar and citric acid in it.
