regenerating mycelium
    #1110371 - 12/04/02 03:14 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

i was wondering if it is possible to regenerate mycelium by just popping a spent cake into the incubator with more sterilized substrate on top. also, i have a myco bag, when it is 100% colonised i plan to crumble it up and case it with coco coir. what do you think?

oh! my colonising brf jars are a little cloudy around the space between the top and the substrate. could this be cob web?

it can regenerate but chances are if it is completely spent, nothing will grow except contam. But if you have space give it a shot.

If the mycelium is alive then it will defenitely grow into the sterilized substrate. People do it all the time, you can slice off a bit of mycelium after your last flush and then you can put it into a jar of substrate after you sterilize it.

maybe i will try it. i mean why not right? also, if it helps any there is colonising mycelium on the top of the substrate so thats why it might be climbing myc or something like that. or cobweb.
