cops lurking on my property

I was approached by a neighbor yesterday who informed me that two cops cars came and parked in my driveway at around 2 in the morning with their blue lights on, lingered for maybe 20 minutes and then left. Then another cop came and parked on the road in front of my house with lights off. I was asleep for all of this and would have had no idea if the neighbor hadn't told me. I am a little worried because of the cakes i have in the fc and two little trees grwoing in the back. anyway I am very grateful that the neighbor brought this to my attention, but kinda of unsure what to think. I know they werent just doing routine patrolling because I live in the suburbs on a dead end street and and only seen a cop on the road 1 time in 7 years. Plus why did they choose my driveway to pull into when there is a cul de sac? anyway I looking for advice on what to do. i will never consent to any search. should I just go ahead and be safe and yank up the two trees. I am not worried about the cakes so much because that can be explained away as a legal mushroom grow as long as there are no visible fruits.

Holy shit.
Yeah, I'd get rid of anything remotely incriminating. Does anybody else know about the trees and pf cakes?

but if they hold onto the cakes as possible evidence its quite possible they can produce the fruits under little light and give them more evidence.

This could work better.....
If you had a real close friend that keeps their mouth shut and lives alone you could transport the cakes there.
DO NOT attempt to transport trees....... It is sketchy as fuck and is not even worth the stress involved.
Transport during the day when there is lots of vehicular traffic on the roads.
Clean everything the fuck up.
Now, before you even consider the above take a close look at your friends. If you know someone that you don't trust but showed them your grow maybe you should just trash everything.
Don't do anything rash but it would be smart to act intelligently, quickly, and decisively to resolve this situation before it becomes a problem.

thats the problem. I really have only one friend in this town and I cant even really trust him. ( he is a friend but is shiesty sometimes) not to mention that he is the only person who knows about both. I dont think he snitched on me, he grows bud too and it wouldnt be in his best interest. I told him about the situation and he agrees something is very sketchy. so i dont think he ratted on me, but i def dont trust him to fruit these correctly. I just moved the food processor up to the room with the cakes so I can act quickly if i get a knock on the door.

I told the people at the small garden shop that I was buying perlite to put into a terrarium for oyster mushrooms. i wonder if those assholes might have communicated with someone. i did use my credit card.

i dunno man. this situation sucks ass. i dont have a job and am home most of the day, with one other person and three dogs. i honestly dont see how any evidence could be amounted against me to get a warrant. i have sold to no one and it is a pretty small operation. maybe i am just being too paranoid. either way the plants are gonna go.
Can a cop search a lock box if it is in your house if you dont give them the key?

It is possible. I think it was a guy named Jorge Cervantes (sp?) who wrote about narcs and cops posting up at garden shops.
Never give out personal info. Mentioning a terrarium w/ perlite + oysters is not cool. Even if it was oysters.
When you buy supplies use a car that is completely legal and preferably not your own.
Do not buy supplies from convenient local sources.
Drive fucked up nonsensical routes on your way home.
Don't talk about your hobby and don't sell.
Oh, don't wear tie dye in public, keep appearance conservative and language like square people. Don't put stupid hippie bumperstickers on your car. Interior should be neat & tidy.
The place you live should look clean and have nothing sketch in plain view.
Mind the window curtains.
I have been places smoking with friends who initially over looked their gigantic windows that had a clear view to many other apartments. One old friend was growing just a little for personal and he has problems with a beligerant alcholic that he thought "was cool" that lived upstairs.
Be safe dude. They might have caught wind of something.

No to be rude, but you really should not have told thm anything. in my experience it is best if people have no idea what you are doing. It leaves probable doubt.

yeh i realized it afterward. FUCK those MOTHERFUCKERS. i assumed the dude was chill because afterwards he acted as if he thought it was cool and had a few suggestions of substrates. i also assumed that since growers go in there to outfit their gorwrooms that there was a mutual understanding of the unspoken (i.e. that no one uses any of that shit for growing tomatoes). man either way fuck them.

I would move the cakes

i just checked the garbage and nothing looks like it was disturbed. i produce a very small amount of trash each week anyway. moving the cakes to another house is not an option at all. i dont trust anyone here. a warrant cant be obtained based just on someone's word can it?

I think about it like being behind enemy lines...
You need to be tactical in what you do and should blend in with the "normal" types.

If they were tipped by some asshat over at the garden store they might have decided to "test the waters" by putting a cruiser with flashing lights in your driveway.
That would appear to be classic psychological warfare. You should dispose of sketchy things at a public dump, preferably double bagged contractor bags (because they don't rip) from a hardware store.
NEVER dispose of trash, especially sketchy trash, in someone's private dumpster. People have been picked up for that before.
It is not against the law for the L.E.O.s to pick through trash that you left on your corner. They don't even need a warrant for that. Never leave sketchy stuff in your trash at the curb. Never dispose of soil and/or myco stuff on your property. Perlite stands out pretty good in someone's backyard saying: "Hey this dude grows shit indoors..."

Pretty much spot on.. op If i were you i would just keep the cakes close to the toilet in case you get unwanted visitors.
