I encoruage each person on the forum that uses linux and windows to try out freebsd.. ive been using it for about 7 months or so and i love it.  Its my gateway box, ive set it up to forward all traffic incoming from my (cable) modem to go thru the firewall program (ipfw) and its not as hard a lot of folks think.. there are plenty of ppl out there that are knowlegable in the subject, and they dont totally have to be unix,  linux users arent left in the dark at all.  i love this os.  its great.. ive had no problems out of it, and its very secure even from the install.  Not saying (and notice that that is the only caps word in my post  ) that its totally secure from the moment you install.. but it is a great thing, and if you want to get to know *nix its a great os to try.. and if you have any questions please feel free to ask me..  or search around the net for an answer.  theres lots of documentation.

later..  g$

if you can run linux without a mouse, you can just as easily run freebsd wich is a billion times better.
