growin zoomies with green mold next door

Okay here is the situation:
I started with 6 pints of rye grain that colonized with cambodian spores. One was kinda shaky lookin so I set it aside the rest looked. I had some old dung brothers compost from way back when they were endorced by the hawks eye and never had a problem. I mixed up about 7 lbs and left it in my closet for 2 weeks. everything was looking good until I had an emergency and had to wheel off the DBkit, when it was 90% colonized. Then when I was able to put light on it a week later it was okay for a few days then I noticed some different looking bubbly mycelia that turned green after a few days.
I would say the green occupies 5-10% of the entire thing, but the casing is already fruiting with normal healthy lookin goomies. The shrooms are only growing on white mycelia, and NO growth on the green.
I tried cutting out the green when I first saw it, however it regrew covering the cut out area. I have sence covered the area with a rubbing alcohol soaked paper towel. I want to know if there is anything elso to do, and if the growing shrooms are safe for the green mold, and the rubbing alcohol?

I'd chuck it. You aren't going to beat the green. I wouldn't eat anything off of a contaminated substrate...just to be on the safeside.

Hmmmmm, I shouldn't answer you on the sheer fact of your user name  :tongue: j/k, There's not much you can do once the green is visible, I've never been able to beat it.  As for the shrooms being safe to consume, well that's up to you, I wouldn't do it (any more, I ate a couple of shrooms off a contaminated casing, nothing happened, that time......)  or recommend it, but if you really really want to, I'm not gonna stop you.  Good Luck.

oh i wouldt,,dont risk it man,,,alcohol can mutate the mushies,if if comes in contact with them,but i think that the least of your problems,,,really i'd call it a loss,and start over

ok you guys are scaring me because I thought it was'nt a big deal. The green really hasnt grown in the last 4 days. and the shooms look to be doing fine. However if there is a chance of anything happening I have a backup casing in my shoe box. I will try to get a picture. so you guys can give me a second opinion.
