Who has been to an aquarium tripping?

How hard were you tripping, what on, and how was it?

I'm just wondering if i should try this sometime

I went once on 2 grams of shrooms, by myself.

The sea otters were fucking adorable.

They had this badass room with a bunch of jelly fish under cool lights, I spent quite a bit of time there.

well how was the situation in regards to handling the environment, people, etc (and even possibly humming noises)?  I know two grams might not be the most intense, but I am wondering how easy/difficult tripping pretty hard at an aquarium would be, not to mention getting there/leaving

I ate an eighth once and went to a really rad zoo. It was pretty intense. We decided to get away from all the people and go see an imax movie (Volcanoes of the Deep Sea), and that blew our minds. We went back to the car and smoked weed for probably two hours, tripping out in the parking lot, then went back in. When we got to the orangutan exhibit, I just about died with happiness. That thing was awesome.


But yeah, all the people were kind of obnoxious and freaked us out at the peak. One of my friends went back in while the rest of us were smoking in the car. He went to this dark  swamp exhibit, wearing giant sunglasses and waving his head around like a madman. He said he couldn't even see the path and he might have pushed a few little kids out of the way. haha.


If you think you can handle yourself, I say do it.

Well I may not be the person to ask about this, as I have been known to take rolls, acid, or shrooms and go out to the bar or parties. I always try to make it a game of how long I can go before people figure out I'm tripping balls. I was pulled over by the cops on 2 grams of shrooms once, I didn't go to jail, he did ask if I had been drinking though.

I took some acid and went to the museum here in town, it seemed like a good good hit, aside from me and my friend being loud, we did alright and I was more laughing at the sobers than worrying if they knew I was high.

But acid seems like it's really easy to function on, after 2 grams with shrooms... it seems like by 2.6 you're kinda starting to trip balls and I wouldn't want to be out in public on that much.

LOL i think people would be suspicious if I were wearing sunglasses at an aquarium

I was thinking about doing a decently hefty dose of mescaline combined with some morning glory...with the morning glory there's absolutely no way I could hide my pupils, but all in all the trip would be a bit easier to deal with than mushrooms in the same setting

I think I could handle myself within the place, the only thing that worries me is the outside (new orleans), and the fact that I am extremely sensitive to mechanical buzzing noises (headaches). I'd be sure not to have anything illegal on me, so I'm guessing as long as I wasn't bothering anybody (which I wouldn't be) I'd be OK? 

I do know that the coolest part (the "tunnel" ) is always filled with people...so that might suck a little but fuck em, I'd just block them out

yeah I'm not too worried about that honestly


in respone to rustifier...ive been to plenty of shows at bars while tripping, and handled myself just fine

like I said the biggest thing I'm worried about is my sensitivity to mechanical humming and stuff like that. I know it's not the same thing, but I tripped on 4th of July to see the fireworks and had to stay inside because I couldn't handle the noise, I felt like bombs were going off in my ears, it was terrible (i've had this problem since being in a car accident). I guess I could try to wear earplugs

6 hits at the Tn Aquarium, went to the Imax afterward, with the lighting
in the building that looks like waves as well as light filtering through
the tanks it was absolutely incredible, the jellyfish and seahorses were a
real time eater, and the petting stations for the sturgeon and stingrays
made for a pleasant event, it's one of the few times someone actually
figured out I was tripping in public and it was a security guard, he'd
followed me for about 10 minutes before he approached me, he turned out to
be really cool, he was just concerned that I may be a little sketchy
because of the kids and stuff on field trips, one thing about it, he was
observant and managed his job well

next time I go I want to hit the Georgia Aquarium

I rate the trip an 11/10

awesome, thanks Pris :thumbup:... I know you might not be able to relate to my noise sensitivity problem (esp. if you can handle Imax...I couldnt...light sensitivity), but were there any uncomfortable buzzings/hummings coming from anything that you noticed? or anything else like that

p.s. it's aquarium of the americas I will be going to

even then the danger isnt that great, I've dealt with cops on a 10 hit
dose, I was trespassing, had a pitbull that was holding the cops at bay
and my friend and I had ran from the cops and had to go back for his dog

maybe the cop knew and said nothing, I think he was tripping too, his
eyes were dilated... at least I think they were, I was tripping

no, if you hit it during a slow period the people noise wont be an issue,
you dont notice the sounds of the mechanicals, some places run a light
background 'sea' type noise, it may be soothing or irritating, take
earplugs just in case they have it and it's irritating

I did fernbank and the imax they have as well, the down trip was on the
trails, it's hard to believe the place is in the middle of atlanta but
they do a planetarium show every few hours, as well as the museums, one
dealing more with earth science and the other is the archeology stuff

public tripping is great as long as you know you can handle the doses
and keep your shit together around small groups and security, if not,
avoid the peoples and trip elsewhere

yeah, for sure.

I forgot to mention that when we were in the imax, one of my buddies couldn't handle staring straight at the screen after a while, and he laid down in the row, right in front of his seat. LOL. There weren't many people in there, or that wouldn't have worked so well.

Going to a planetarium on mescaline would be pretty fun. :awesome:

I've gone to the zoo and IMAX before while tripping, but never to an aquarium.  That sounds awesome. I'll probably try that sometime.

Haha, I admit I was like this for a little bit. We saw an under water IMAX and I hate sharks, so I just couldn't look at them while tripping. They freak me out.

This sounds like a great idea to me..I might have to make a trip to Chicago to do this!! Aquariums are awesome enough already. I did have a freaky dream recently about a dark aquarium with a giant squid. I might freak out actually.

I went to the shedd aquarium in Chicago on acid one time.

It was AWFUL!!!

We went on free day and it was PACKED.

To make things worse there was a group of at least 25 kids there with down syndrome, on a field trip or something.  I spent the whole time terrified that one of them would try to talk to me.

I guess seeing the tanks and stuff was pretty cool though.

We wandered into some area that apparently you had to pay for, and got bitched out by some big fat black lady and I laughed a lot.

My suggestion, don't smoke weed. I am not saying that weed makes everyone paranoid, but I do feel when tripping that the effects are intensified. I would go for the mescaline and ditch the morning glory.

I gotta say aquariums can get SUPER PACKED so be prepared for that coupled with stupid kids that make stupid kid noises. I wouldn't worry about your pupils honestly it's usually very dark and you don't look at people.

marijuana wouldn't make me paranoid at all, but it would increase my sensitivity to light and noise. For that reason, I may leave it out, but then again, I love marijuana so...so I might not, depending on how I'm feeling by then.
Personally, morning glory is one of my very favorites, I'm not sure I would ditch it, but I definitely wouldn't take too much. I've done the combination before...if not overdone, it's immensely spectacular...but i'd make sure to get a few more of those combos under my belt before I took it out in public.


I've communicated telepathically with a horse while on mescaline, it was extremely bizarre...I could only imagine how bizarre an aquarium might be


definitely gonna wear earplugs though

yeah...I thought I was gonna feel miserable when i kept staring at this one horse that was locked in a tiny stall...and then he showed me the whole planet by making symbolic faces, and I ended up having possibly the most profound night of my entire life...hard to explain, but it was not depressing, it was just the state of things, and kinda backwards, but in a profound way. :shrug:
I look forward to experiencing wierdness at the aquarium, but I guess that's me

dolphins are definitely awesome to watch but they are very smart creatures who can not survive in captivity, and are proven to be depressed in those situations. it's sad to me. i listened to something on NPR about one of the dolphins from the movie flipper who actually killed itself. dolphins don't breathe involuntarily like us, this dolphin stopped breathing on purpose.

think of it this way...that dolphin is gonna be there either way, maybe it will be happy to enounter somebody it might be able to try and send it's message to :shrug: idunno. or you could just find something besides dolphins to look at

I WAS an aquarium the first time I tripped.:tripping:

2 feet of  :sanpedro:  at monteray.  Dosed, drove two hours to the aquarium (coming up as I was taking the freeway offramp) and only spent about 3 hours there.

But I was fixated on the peguin exhibit.

They were all checkerboard patterned.

the coral reefs were also pretty fun to look at.

The only downside to the day was constantly banging my head on the glass  from trying to lean in too far.
