Power of the mind

It's truly amazing what the mind is capable of. Holding the perspective that psilocybin, DMT, LSD, etc are merely keys that unlock hidden functions of our brain allows for the conclusion that the brain is capable of such things, and much more, unaided by psychadelics. Example - I just experienced the first and second dimensions of space-time while listening to a remix of Shpongle's DMT. Granted I took 3 dry grams 4 days ago, but I am completely sober right now. This is a great thing to experiment with, and it wasn't even a full-blown OBE but just a closed-eyed trip.

See folks? Shpongle is a drug in itself, and synergizes beautifully with all others
-=- Matt/Strumpling -=- sorry, but I HAVE to praise Shpongle when somebody mentions it - send me a PM if you want a special Shpongle gift

Yes, but what "power" did you unlock? A realization (which may or may not even be true) is not a power.

my take on it is like your brain is a giant muscle. everytime u dose psychadelics you are exercising special pieces of this muscle. when sober u can use these muscles via meditation to distort reality without the use of substances. 10-4?

"A realization (which may or may not even be true) is not a power."
I think a realization can be a most powerful thing. The realizations i made 2 years ago are directly affecting the reality im currently experiencing. A realization changed everything. It gave me the power to mold my life to my liking.

The power to achieve vivid and psilocybin/salvinorin quality closed-eyed-visualizations at will - very useful in meditation, ritual, OBE practice, everyday life. Certainly prior ingestion of psychadelics was not necessary to help me realize this, but it definitely helped.

I highly doubt the sober hallucinations are as extrordinary. I can trigger visions as well but they're not nearly as....... they're not as "something" as "the real thing."

Realization is what life is all about. Realization is the key. Realization is your sight.

I think a realization can be a most powerful thing.
A "power" and a "powerful thing" have ENTIRELY different connotations. Nice, albeit weak, try though.

The mechanisms and actions of learning/growth are completely different in every aspect. I find this to be a poor analogy.
