3 Weeks into PF Classic (HQ Closeup Pics)
    #11072523 -

I knocked up 9 jars three weeks ago tomorrow with PF Classic.  As of today, every jar is showing signs of growth with no contams.  They are moving pretty slowly, however.  Here are a couple shots of my best jar.  First is as close as I could get.  You can see how the glass of the jar distorts the image.  I can't wait to birth these to get some better shots of the myc.  The second shot is a little farther away, so you can get an idea for how much growth I have thus far.  Is this strain known for slow growth, or is this pretty normal for cubes?  This is my second attempt.  My first one went south after my syringes sat in the heat for entirely too long and none of the jars colonized.

What songs did they play, and how far away? Why did he whisper, why did she scream?
What does the sound of a screen door mean?
Who talks on the hill? Who goes to the cellar, can you feel the chill? Where does the river, when will the wind?
How far are the mountains? Where do they end? Why would the church?
Did the service begin? Tell me who died, and tell me who cried.

What temp are you incubating them at? I had slow growth when my temps were too low or too high. I found the sweet spot at keeping it in the 80-82F range...
Good luck!! =)

I have done pf style a couple times with b+. After 3 weeks i was at 100% as long as i kept it at 85 degrees f. Temperature fluxuation will double or tripple the time for colonation,in my expierience. 85 works for me.

85's also awesome for contams to germinate

Sounds good! Once I get them fruiting, I'd be glad to make a trade.  I'll PM you when I'm able to make prints.

Room temperature...~70-73.  I've considered using a heat pad, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to regulate the temperature as well as I would need to.  Not to mention they're doing fine at this temperature.  Why change it if it's working fine?

My friend's uncle recently did PF style jars with PF Classic. They colonized more slowly than he expected, but no contamination. He let the jars sit at room temp, which for him is about 76 deg. He made sure to dunk them before fruiting as they got a little dry during colonization. He has had mixed results trying to case these. For some reason he believes this strain is slow moving compared to others he has tried. Even the fruiting stage moves more leisurely, in his experience. GL with your grow - looks good so far!

So, 6 weeks in and none of the jars are fully colonized.  Three are 95% there and the rest are between ~60-85%  They're looking good, but the wait is killing me.  What's the longest you guys have had to wait for full colonization?

Hi again, it looks like nobody replied to your post yet...most usually people I know who use 1/2 pint jars get full colonization in 2-3 weeks. Quart jars can be even faster, depending on temperature and how active the spores are. (Probably because they are airier in general nature.) 6 weeks does seem a bit long...are they at at least 73 degrees or so? Can the lids be loosened to allow a little more gas exchange? If there is no sign of contams then don't give up yet. It's just that they are using up the nutrients they will need to fruit, so you may get fewer good flushes. GL! Maybe someone with a similar experience can post here to reassure you...
