Hammock Camping

So I am in the market for a new tent for backpacking. I wanted a tent that was very light and a friend of mine suggested a hammock. There is a company called Henessy Hammocks that make ultra light camping hammocks for reasonable prices. I was wondering if anyone has used/uses a hammock for camping. One drawback is that it relies on trees for construction, I plan on doing some hiking in the Rockies in the near future where a lot of the hiking is above tree line.
The website is here: www.hennessyhammock.com
Check them out and let me know what you think.
I like the idea because unless there are no trees, it is very easy and convenient. Also, it just looks like a lot more fun than sleeping on the ground in your standard tent.

Yep, I use a hennessy. Their badass hammocks, and more comfortable than the mattress in my own bedroom to sleep in. I always wake up in a hammock completely refreshed with no kinks in my back or anything, it's never a bad sleep.

way better than tent camping IMO.. my only complaint is they are a little colder than sleeping in a tent and its hard to safely fit a girl in there with you, ive done it a couple times but you can really feel the hammock tensioned up to its limit... other than that tho its so much better, lighter, easier to set up/take down, plus you dont have to sleep on the ground!

I used to use just a regular hammock. If its a warm, clear night, then why not? There's nothing like falling asleep under the stars.

dreamcatcher man, look it up, plus it's way cheaper than a hammock. more comfortable too.

I've fit a chick in my Explorer Ultralite.. but yeah it is a bit snug ( ).. and it does feel like you are really pushing the limits of the ropes, so it feels a little sketch. I mean those things are supposed to have something like a 2,000 lb weight limit, but with a hammock you have to account for flex and the curvature.. which lowers the effective weight limit significantly.... or something to that effect, I'm no physicist anymore. They do have the Safari Deluxe model.. which is their biggest model and said to hold one massive person or a couple..

Yeah those are pretty cool also, I just don't like how bulky and heavy the netting is that goes around it. I like how on the Hennessy Hammocks they have the netting sewn on.
