Yesterday I was at my gym and talking to this kid about a shroom connect. Then we started talking about trips we had. Then he said something that I've been thinking about all day. He said "well there's always that chance you can die three days later". I never heard of this before so I need some clearity.

Tell this kid politely to stop believing a bunch of propoganda that is fed to him, and go research for himself, then give him the names of some certain websites that can help him educate himself instead of being a sheep. Erowid, BL, and of course Shroomery are all good places to start.

"the chance you can die 3 days later" is probably refering to a bad i.d. and you get a poison one in your sack.
But, hopefully your dealer gets them from a good source.
Or, he at least does not go to the park and pick every random shroom he sees.
Chances are extraordinarily low that you would get a bad shroom in a bag you paid for. The dealer doesnt want you dead. And you would be smart enough to notice a funny lookng one before you eat it.
But, in either case.

Seems like at least once a year in the SF Bay Area you will see a story in the paper about a group (usually Vietnamese for some reason) who went edible picking and ended up misidentifying. For some reason it always takes 3 or 4 days for the ones who die to die. The rest just need new livers. Maybe thats just how long they can keep you hooked up to the machines.

There are some species of mushroom that can kill you pretty quickly, others that you won't know anythings wrong till a week or 2 later when your in hospital needing a liver transplant.
Psylocibe mushrooms have very little toxicity if they do at all. I believe there actually very good for you used in the right circimstances. However everyone reacts different.
They most definatly don't make your brain bleed or any of the other silly rumors ot there. I've actually never heard any rumours about here in the uk. Maybe its just a US thing.
The only thing I have been advised about them though was to be carefull as you can mess with your mind. Which I can understand if you don't respect them and go sillyy taking stupid doses all the time.

The Destroying Angel is a deadly mushroom. Yes it's not a Psylocibe mushrooms but,there is mushrooms that kill.I don't know how long it takes for one to die after ingestion.
