Pantherina group usually have more of a single "collar-like" roll at the top of the basal bulb.  Ima gonna agree with Bob on this one.  Maybe var. formosa.

i think hes way off on his own description

with the "green ring on cap" i think he's reffering to a lepiota - with green bruising and or gills/spores - its kinda easy for newbs to think lepiota and amanita are the same:shrug:

post up some pics - panthers would stand out like a soar thumb!! - no peach or yellow caps though!

I think he might be seeing very slight greenish tones on the margin, which could be possible depending on the lighting. Muscaria has several variations, Dice. I'm not good a picking them all out but I still belive those are Amanita muscaria.

Those are Amanita muscaria v. formosa.

I've picked many of them. Can you tell us more about where you found them, like what state?

if you need to ask, you shouldn't be thinking of eating any Amanitas yet.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

 Goddamn, Canid...I was just thinking that! Look in his gallery. I think he's got a gemmata in there or something that he's calling the "lookalike". The warts look too big and sparse to be muscaria to me, but I'm not sure.

if you have a strong interest in Amanita section amanita, i encourage you to stick with it. they are certainly not my specialty, and with so much changing in that genus, it's good to have so many people keeping up.

Mushroom on the left looks like Amanita muscaria var formosa, a.k.a. A. amerimuscaria

Mushroom on the right is confusing me because it lacks the stacked rings at the base.

and always remember, the mushrooms have never read a taxonimic description of themselves.

they will not always conform to the diagnostic features we use to tell them apart.

as for that specimen on the right, it may be as simple as it's having been handled by the bulb and the scales having been depressed or obscured. there are dingy lines suggestive of a ring of scales.

this is why we all say 'when in doubt, throw it out'.

Given your experience, what do you like about using them? How would you describe the trip? What keeps you coming back for more?
