or are you guys too busy with free giveaways and pin porn?

i'd really like some answers
i know people do use spawn but it also seems people like to use straw and poo and seed in mixture with either agar or lc
im just trying to get a good even pinset with pans
ive read a lot on their growth

I would like to see some more pan grows, along with more pan growing info.  I think I may try to grow some one day.  I hear the trip is not only stronger than cubes, but also different.  Id like to try them.

thanks guys
ive ordered a lot of stuff including pancyan suphaburi and an agar kit to use with my flow hood i made a month+ ago
so im amped to try it out

im currently growing some pr cubes, and if anyone has had any experience growing those, it can be no small feat as well as very similar to growing pans

i can show some pics tomorrow, which would probably be best since ive seen a lot of pins starting to show and it will detail a lot more progress

if my typings a little bit weird its cuz im on sleep meds and im about to go to bed so cya!

What is HMC? From what I read spawning grains to some bulk (preferrably straw+dung) should be fine. Tell us how it goes. :smile:

HMC is high mountain compost, one of the sponsors here
i know its great for cubes but as i read more and more, pans are pickier then cubes
since im unsure of the contents of the compost, though ive seen what i think is straw in it along with hpoo i dont know if its adequate

also my skepticism comes from the fact that it looks like most of the grow logs involve substrate they have made themselves. if not all of them

If it's mainly straw w/ hpoo then you should be fine. If not, I dunno :wink:

The best thing for Pans is cow shit, I havent tried it but starw and poo is ment to be good. Apparantly starw increases yeild but again i dont use it. I use horse shit and verm mix as my bulk sub and it works really well for pans.

About the contamination issue i think its due to Pan myc being much finer unlike cube myc :shrug:

Im not really expirenced at Pans but I got some casing trays in a SGFC and they seem to be better than my fist attempt. First grow contamed with trich after the first flush and blotch while during the first flush.

Good call on the agar, once you have myc you WILL get shrooms further down the line.

I grew sum Hawaiian PES strain. Did the same thing as badman. 50/50 verm/black kow. Yes, they are pickier but pretty much the same as cubies.

oh yea, spawning to that HMC should work great

as far as colonization, after about 5-10 days of myc growth the myc seems to kindof get a hold on the sub and just take off

but then you should wait 7-10 days after colonization

i've never had a pan jar contam, but my pan bags always contam :shrug:
