i think its going to stay the way it is but just put on some size, or its going to be a pretty deformed mushroom!!

nope. its going to look like a normal mushroom in a few days, a little bigger than the rest.

I wanna know what research everyone has apparently read that states that "Such and such" causes "such and such" a mutation.  I have not seen any of this information anywhere aside from the occasional random person just stating it like it's fact.  Until I see a completely isolated strain, fruited in various different conditions, such as high light, low light, high FAE, low FAE, high temps, low temps, etc, etc, I will assume that any all mutations that I see are linked to genetics.  Correlation does not equal causality.  Just because you have one flush of mutants, and change things around in between flushes, and the next flush has perfect morphology, does not mean that those things that you changed were the initial cause of mutation.

Sorry for ranting, I hope this helped in some way.

I agree. Nothing was changed in my setup between the first and second flushes, yet somehow the second flush was normal.

Like I said, the 3 cakes that mutated were all the same strain. The two trays, and 6 cakes of a different strain, which all placed in the FC at the same as the others turned out perfectly normal.

Shows me it was not some external factor, but more likely some form of genetic mutation (there are many). Mutations happen all the time. Different mutations could have the same overall effect on phenotype, explaining why this particular mutation and others, like the upside down shroom, are so common despite everyone using different strains.

Looks to me like they stayed mutant little puff balls and did not develop into normal shrooms.  When youre right, youre right....
