Please answer this seriously: could you remove LSD from blotter?

I just had a flash of an idea... LSD is a fragile chemical. It's photosensitive. Heat sensitive. Even sensitive to tap water.

Now. Those are your constraints. Work around them. Constraints are meant to be creatively defeated.

If someone wanted a 100% method of accurately knowing that they had LSD, what kind of solution could you dip the blotters in that would always show you if something was LSD and ONLY if something was LSD? It would have to allow you to ingest it afterward, of course.

Is the LSD broken down when you ingest it? It is absorbed. What could absorb the LSD without destroying it, so that you could better judge if it was LSD, and also test the level of purity?

There must be something. It has to exist. It can't not exist, the likelihood of such a process not existing is slim. It's impossible that this doesn't exist.

But what could it be? It would have to be something that could be ingested in non-trivial amounts with absolutely no toxicity or effect on LSD absorption. It can't degrade the LSD either.

Someone who has a LOT of real LSD could easily come up with this method. It would change shit so much.

Even better... after extracting it, one could use something to absorb the LSD and leave behind impurities (if there are any).

But how? Just because we can't do it now doesn't mean we can't do it later. Effort != Impossible.

You can remove LSD from blotter by dissolving it in distilled water. Easy peasy.

But that doesn't seem to be your question (the subject line of your post is most deceptive).  Your question is how someone could determine with 100% certainty that they had LSD.

The most straightforward and reliable way to determine this with ~100% certainty is to run 1H-NMR on the LSD solution that you've removed from the blotter and compare that to LSD's proton NMR.  You could also compare IR spectra for shits and giggles.

haha i'm not sure, but i don't think many people have a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer hanging around, i think the marquis reagent gives an olive-green reaction to LSD but it needs to be present in milligram quantities.

Yeah, but I don't think most people want to waste milligrams of LSD testing it. And it's not like LSD is the only thing that can turn olive green with the Marquis reagent.

And I know not everyone has an NMR spectrometer around.  I was making the point that testing acid from your blotter to determine with 100% certainty that you have LSD ain't kitchen chemistry.  You can't McGuyver together a solution from an icecube tray, some paperclips, a ball of twine, some tartar sauce and a glass of lemonade.
