Illadephs are so overrated IMO. The glycerin coil is definitely not worth $600, you should've could have gotten a rediculously nice Toro, Sovereignty, or Roor for that much. Or even at that price you could've gotten a custom piece from a well-known blower like luke wilson.
This is one of my favorite Toro's ive seen to date (not mine unfortuneately :frown:)



And again, im not trying to say the piece isn't good, im just saying you could've gotten something MUCH nicer at the price you paid. :shrug:

Btw, I hope you like your bent-neck rasta roor you have, that is a rare piece, and fucking awesome one at that. :respect:

Coldest rip you will most likely ever take. Nothing like putting your lips up to the 'chilly' after it gets out of the freezer. It's almost too cold but isn't.

However the bong is never used unless the coil is cold. If it isn't cold, I usually go for the 4:20 because it filters the smoke twice.

However the JBD 2 and the kinked Roor hit very fat.

Illadelphs are so fucking stupid expensive. No doubt a great looking bong, but I can think of quite a few things I'd rather drop $600 on.

That 420 bong is a STEAL for 80 bucks.  That thing I think is the sickest bong you got up there.

Let's see some shots of those things being put to use!

My nicest piece to date has been an ADS (Amsterdam Design Studios), 2 foot, single chamber, 9mm thick glass (insane), with the erlenmyer flask bottom, the head shop I got it from called it a beaker bottom. Spent $350. I would really like to get a nice stem-less Toro or a custom piece but I don't know if I'll like it, I'm a big fan of single chambers, but the 13 arm perc is badass and the inline ash-catcher I think it is, very nice.

ohhh yesss inline ashcatchers are fucking great. expensive but worth it IMO.  i recently added one to my single chamber beaker bottom and it feels like i put a perc on my bond.  sooo smooth and my favorite part is how clean it keeps the bong. nomore lil black specks of ash or unburnt weed. the only grime in my bong now is some brown tint near the bottom.  i think it also helps keep your bong  way less  smelly.

There is less drag on the Lux. The Illadelph's air flow is constricted in the coil unlike the straight shot Lux. Also the Illadelph is a two peice so there is going to be drag at the connection as well.

There really isnt that much drag at all, I was just pointing out earlier in the thread that there is more drag compared to the Lux. You can still dome check yourself with this bong guaranteed, but it will be the smoothest 1 filter rip you'll ever take.

yes i have hit an illidelph with a coil. its not about the temperature either, illidelph says that ice is actually too cold. And do you really think that this is the only tube company that does this. The glycerine sucks in my opinion because it makes your milk too thick(so does ice so i never use it) and if i was going to get one i would get a wicked sands with a glycerine 10 arm perc for half the price. and i am not a douche i am just tired of reading people stupid posts when they know nothing about smoking weed obviously.

I don't know anything about smoking weed? You sound like a child. I fucking grow weed. Anyways, the Illadelph is the smoothest rip I have taken. I have never heard of or smoked out of a wicked sands before, but if it is rockin glycerine then it's got my respect. And don't get me wrong, there is definitely times for rips that aren't cooled. But as for percolators, they dilute the rip. Some THC is trapped in every section of water on your bong.

just because you grow weed doesn't mean you know about smoking weed. You obviously don't snap fat loads because you would know that you get resin on the outsides of your mouth from taking a fat rip with ice or glycerine. if you haven't heard of wicked sands i dont know how you are claiming to know so much. They are even based in california where you live,  so check it out, you can get a 10 arm mini with glycerine for about half of what that illidelph ran you.

and the amount of THC left in the water is so minimal that it really doesnt matter, plus anything over 2 percs is overkill and 2 is a bitch anyway for someone who doesnt know how to hit it and not fuck the water levels.

I haven't seen any Wicked Sands with removable coils... So basically you either need to be able to fit your bong in the freezer somehow, or put it in the fridge and not get that cold of a coil? I love Wicked Sands fractals/patterns/designs however, I think they are some of the best I have seen on smoking apparatuses.

Other than that, I am just not a big fan of percolators at all.

Also, I have found a buyer for the Lux. Anyone know if its legal to ship "Tobacco Water Pipes" with no residue, out of state?

I've bought a few glass pieces, but never spent more than $120, not saying you're stupid for doing it or anything... that's fucking commitment right there.

I'm so used to going to the shop and buying a $3 bottle of powerade, stealing a length of neighbours hose and crafting a bong out of high school ingenuity

Ya I have made dozens of home made bongs. They are cool and all and some do produce legitimate rips, but nothing compares to someone who has a scientific glass blowing degree.

And I love blunts as well, they are my second favorite method of smoking weed... However they consume a lot of bud and are costly to smoke on a daily basis, especially when you are smoking upwards of 4 a day. Swisher Sweets represent.

the way to go is smoke your dank in your glass only and get like a seperate bag of cheap mids for rolling blunts and fatty cones with. :thumbup: 

i kno i was the first to reply in here, but i have to say again...love the collection man. I dont give a fuck about all the stupid hippie drama over stupid fucking small deatails about brand name perculators and glycerin and bong temps, and this and that, i realize these things make differences, but either way bongs are just fucking awesome period. as long as that shits glass, not to short, and has a nice glass ash catcher slide or sumthing like that and a simple ice catcher im satisfied and it hits with minimal drag, im golden :sun::vaped:

I'm no expert but I'd imagine that the more times the smoke gets water filtered, the "cleaner & lighter" the smoke gets. I'd recommend something that filters at least twice if that's what you're looking for. My buddy helped me get a beaker version of Legalize's LUX bong down at the Dementia headshop in SoCal. I'm in the process of ordering a Blazemaster bowl for it and a Vriptech vaporizer so I can take massive, ice cooled, double filtered (w/ percolators), vapor hits with it while still maintaining a not too huge bong size.

That is somewhat of an oxymoron.

A big rip isn't really light smoke. Water dillutes the rip so it is basically thinning the smoke, and cooling the temperature so it is easier to inhale.

Now not everyone will agree with this, but to me, a good bong would be one that has a percolator, diffuser, maybe an ash cash, and it still rips a little harsh. That shows that even after the smoke is filtered, the bong still produces a fat rip. Because really, a harsh rip means either it is very hot, bud that wasn't flushed, or a huge bong toke.

You should check out HVY glass or Governmint. They are very nice bongs, but aren't top of the line.

Yes, as a matter of fact I am. Based on your recommendation a few months back, I am currently looking into purchasing something blown by 'Wicked Sands'. However, an employee at some head shop I was recently at (can't remember where) stated that they are going out of business, or getting out of the glass blowing game.

I disregarded the statement as an attempt to over price an already over priced bong and purchased the Hi-Sci instead.

At the same time I am also leaning towards another tube by Roor. Even though their quality control may have fell in recent years, I still have faith in their tubes. Then again, a beaker bottom Lux Scientific as opposed to my straight shot mini would do just fine. :bongload:
