Pretty sure none of those are actives, so tell them you study all fungi. Are you a minor?

Or cut off a cap of each specimen, place them under a cup on a piece of foil somewhere hidden. Spore printing isn't hard, just takes a little time.

Im going camping for the weekend..leaving in an hour or so. Can I leave the caps under the cups on the foil until sunday? If so, I'll take spore print.
Thanks for advice.

I agree, in actuality we should be studying all fungi. Besides most people think magic mushrooms only grow from cow manure in FL.

These are EVERYWHERE in Portland grass. The gills get all wavy when they dry. The caps curve sharply down, white spore prints as far as I can tell.

Definitely not psychoactive.

Thats a good thing. Just because you are not a minor doesn't mean you cant study something. I'm 28 and I study all fungi, and am not a student of any school but my own.

Studying Fungi is absolutely astounding. The thrill of finding any mushroom is exhilarating. I also suggest all of us study all fungi.

Luckily my buddy I haven't seen in months literally let me borrow Mycelium Running: How Mushrooms Can Help Save the World by Paul Stamets, Mushroom God, 20 minutes ago. I am very excited, and will probably read at least half of it tonight. I have read a ton of mushroom books, but have been waiting to read this book for a year.

Happy Hunting to Everyone!!!

Love all the Fungi!!!

Usually if i leave a cap to print over a weekend or something i come back to moldy mildewy smelly nastyness. But if theres a small leak for air to get in it will just dry out, but if you use a glass or something that sits nice and flat with no air escaping youll probably get mold.

I have never had a cap get moldy while spore printing, but I also don't leave it for a whole weekend. And I spore print almost every specimen I come across.

It can take a few hours, to overnight. If it hasn't dropped any spores by morning then it probably won't.

Spore printing is vital to many ID's, you should probably learn how to do it properly.
