or when children had more time for play and weren't forced to do something they didn't want to do, like go to school?

there are far more catalysts for people to slip into depression now IMHO.

You bring up a very good point here.

I'm sure that if it wasn't for tax, debt, interest and inflation the average workweek would be shorter and less stressful.

It all started when we gave something like gold value based on aesthetics instead of practical use.

I should be able to find a piece of land and settle on it (without having to pay for it), build a house with my family, grow and farm our own food, trade with our neighbors, defend our land and live out a peaceful and relaxing life. Unfortunately it is not so simple as I am forced to take part in this flawed system we call society.

There is no doubt that we live in a world of enslaved nations.

I think people who are ignorant as to why life is so difficult are more depressed than people who understand what is going on. Realizing that we are victims of slavery helps because we do not have to feel responsible for how difficult our life is. Naturally, anyone who realizes that they are a slave will seek to be free of this, which gives them purpose and helps to alleviate depression.

Yeah, having a victim mentality (based on nothing but crap too) helps a lot. :whatever:

Gold is a rare element that has always been put to practical use; it's value does not just lie in its aesthetic appeal. :shake:

Just like I should be able to seek you and your family out, murder all of you, and steal your land/resources!

Many people become depressed when they realize how shit is; realizing that you're a slave relieves depression, how exactly? :what:

Thank you for that last post, Poid, it really does explain a lot. (Not in regards to this subject being discussed)
