Hpoo w/ rye and fruiting chamber
    #11033347 - 09/10/09 10:28 AM (15 years, 4 months ago)

I have completed several attempts at BRF and have tried once with hpoo with all success. I have the following items:

Single spore incubated rye berries (/w no contams )
Hpoo w/ 15% verm by volume pasteurized in Large Autoclavable bags

Setup:
A shelving system that has three racks and a thick plastic cover that came with it.  I have a humidifier hooked up to it giving perfect fruiting conditions. (95% humidity with a temp of 73 degrees)

My question is, these bags I have are huge bags and the circumference of the bags have to be four feet. (think of leave bags) Since I already have the hpoo and verm pasteurized, couldn't I just:

throw the rye into the autoclavable bag
shake up the bag so it's all spread throughout
get it into the shape I want
open it slightly and put a casing layer on top
wrap the top of the bag back up but leave a small opening for air ventilation
leave in the dark to colonize

If that would work couldn't I also, when it's ready to be placed into the chamber, roll the bag over the substrate so only the top is exposed and place directly on the rack?  This was an idea I had in order to simplify the tek I was following and want to get a other peoples' opinions if this would work or not before I go through all the trouble and wasting materials and time.
