does it really matter what brand of pressure cooker I use? I've heard that All American is the best brand but should I really dish out $200 for the 21.5 qt or can I use a brand that is cheaper?

How long do you expect to do this? How many batches? How many PCs do you expect to buy?

I only expect to buy one for the time being. I'm still relatively new at this. I just want to go with the grain tek instead of the pf tek

Your brand of PC doesn't matter. They can all reach 15 psi. I'd say start out with what's affordable to you now. If, in the future, you find yourself in need of another PC, get the best and you'll be set for life. If you have $200 to spend right now and you're sure you'll use it enough to warrant the cost, then get the All American.

thanks y'all for the input. I kina figured that it didnt matter what brand it is as long as it gets the job done. I have already looked around at all the local thrift shops but couldnt find shit. Most of the people working at them either didn't know what one is or didn't speak english too well to understand what I was talking about. I'll just go with the cheaper presto for now.

I really can't comment on the brand but I would get one that holds quart jars.(4 or more)I bought el cheapo and it only cooks 2 quarts jars at a time.It takes up a lot of time doing 6 jars for wbs spawn for bulk.GL

Any post I post here is pure speculation from other read posts

I actually like having two- a little PC that does a few half pints, and my big one that holds 10 quarts. That way I can make a batch of cakes or some LC without heating up the big one.
