Tornados mostly ignore the third world
    #11028424 - 09/09/09 04:11 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

Aside from Bangladesh, Nepal, the Philippines and Uruguay; Tornadoes tend to ignore the third world and concentrate on the first world countries.

Strange trend; huh?

Perhaps there is a higher power out there seeking to destroy our buildings and bring us back to the tribal lifestyle lived by the rest of the world.

It's not strange when you consider the weather patterns necessary to produce tornados and where those weather patterns occur...

Also a lot of the places here in Alabama that get buttraped by tornadoes are pretty third world-ish

Hmmm, so by ignoring the third world countries that dont fit the idea we can conclude the idea is correct.  Brilliant!  Why avoid confirmation bias, we should embrace it - that way we can explain things that fit our ideas alot better.

other countries have more powerful disasters than that tornadoes are fairly harmless(by death tolls) compared to earthquakes, hurricanes, monsoons, floods etc.

This is what Diecommie is talking about.  You can see anything as a truth as long as you ignore those things which would disprove it...

If a tornado shows up in the middle of buttfuck nowhere and nobody reports it does it really exist?

Or maybe the atmospheric conditions favorable to the production of tornadoes are also beneficial to the development of civilization.

Tornadoes generally occur in fertile plain areas, IIRC, so generally a good amount of civilization will grow up around it, they just both are growing on the same substrate basically. Plus, third world countries are less likely to be able to track and make good observations about their tornadoes, so you'll always see fewer reported there.
