I suggest you tell the cop everything you know.
That is the worst legal advice I have ever heard.

I don't know why people in here are defending the wife-beater(girlfriend beater, whatever.)
We don't know the full story, but he deserves the best defense he can get because the criminal justice system is very biased against men in these types of cases. If he really beat the chick up he will get run through the system, however its extremely easy to get run through the same system in exactly the same way if the girl attacks the guy. Any time you fight with a partner its a tragedy, adding additional legal complications will only draw out the pain.

It pisses me off so very fucking much when a man hits a woman, and people offer advise to the man on how to beat any charges, lawsuits whatever. It's fucking sickening.
Well I don't know. One time I got into a big fight with a girlfriend, she was really strong and was in the army. Well its not like we got in a fight - What happened is I got fed up with her yelling and tried to leave to go outside on the balcony. She got it in her head somehow that I was going to jump off the balcony, which is ridiculous because I never jump off balconies and it wouldn't have really hurt much anyway if I did because the grass was only ten feet below. But she decided I was going to kill myself so she used all her strength to restrain me from going outside, when all I wanted was some fresh air. Her knee got messed up pretty bad and needed surgery. That incident could have easily ended in criminal and civil charges, though that would have been a miscarriage of justice.
Girls attack guys all the time, and if they get so much as a scratch, they can have the guy arrested, even if he had nothing to do with it and was just running away from the crazy bitch.
In any case, in this forum we give the best legal advice that we can. I have no idea if he hit the girl and I don't really care. He asked for advice, so we tell him "do not speak to the police" because that is the only sound legal advice that can be given in a situation like this. I don't give people bad legal advice just because I think they might be guilty.
There are plenty of wife beaters out there, and they should go to jail, but most of the people I have met who had a situation like this are not wife beaters. They are often regular people who get screwed over by the system for no good reason.

What's sickening is the number of pussies we've raised in this nanny state we live in. They have no concept of morality or justice or even measures anymore.
It's sickening that one slap can get you three months of your life taken away and a record that will haunt you for the rest of your life. A slap stings for about 20 seconds and leaves a red mark for a few hours, yet today we punish it the same as if you beat someone within an inch of their life and caused actual injury.
If our system was just we'd have a big black man bitch slap you off your feet right in the court room and it would be over and done with.
I know a guy who's GF smashed a pot on his head during an argument. He went to the hospital and ended up with 30 stitches. They demanded he press charges against her, when he refused they charged him instead and he ended up pleading to a minor domestic charge. She never had a mark on her.
No matter what happens the man goes to jail if the woman has a tiny scratch on her or even a red mark from trying to hold her off. It doesn't matter if you have a dozen stab wounds. She'll show them the bruises on her arms from you resisting her and you go to jail.
I've never had any legal troubles like that, but I remember one time this little GF of mine attacked me. I held her back with one arm and she kept swinging at the air trying to get to me. All I could remember was praying my hand didn't slip above her shirtline and leave any sort of mark near her neck because I knew I would be fired and go to jail if the tinyist red mark got left.
Our current system is complete bullshit. I got sucker punched by a guy once and was knocked out. It left me with a black eye for a month. The cops told me he was on probation and would only be facing 2 weeks for it and it wasn't worth picking him up since they were going to violate his probation for being in a bar due to the incident.
OTOH I have a friend that did 3 months because his wife charged him and he pushed her up against the wall. Then she told him he was going to jail (no marks on her whatsoever). So he punched a hole in their own wall and ripped the phone out of the wall. He got three months for ripping his own phone out and punching the hole in the wall (he fixed the hole and the phone himself 3 months later when he got out).

Never hit a woman. Ever, unless your life is being threatened. As a whole, they are a physically weaker specimen, and really as a man, it is one of our duties to protect them and our families.

It's probably pretty easy to assess this from someone from the outside. If the girl walked away with a lump, and the bud uninjured...then......then.........

This thread has been closed.
Reason: OP is long gone, and this isn't really the right forum for debating whether its ok to hit women or not.
