the difference between ariel mycelium and cobwebs.

i think i have both. I THINK. the top of the cakes have these crystal like formations and around the bottom there is white puffy little coton ball things. i did a search and found that ariel mycelium is crystal like and cobwebs are grey. nothing on my cakes are grey. its all white and the crystals and the white little puff balls. here are the pics.

at first i thought it could have been oyster mushies but that was not what i ordered. now i am confused and don't wanna spray any h202 if its not necessary. what do you guys think?

Hmm. I am gonna be honest and say I have no idea. It reminds me of what my cakes looked like when they were getting ready to pin. Except for the whole crystaline thing... I don't quite remember mine being all crystally like that. But if I had to guess I'd say you should be pinning in a day or two.
But as for cobweb, I don't see any.

They look fine, but it looks like they are sitting directly on the perlite. If that is the case then they will take forever to pin and you will have a ton of Ariel myc. The cakes will try to colonize the perlite and continue to colonize when they should be fruiting, this will cause more than normal Ariel myc. CH

you are correct feeling funny. today i checked on the cakes and tiny little pins all over. it seems to have happened over night.

yes it did. thank you CH HELL. i think the foil actually helped them pin faster. almost over night. yesterday there was nothing. not even a sign of pins. now on top the foil, there is a bunch of them.
