Hi.. I found this big mushroom alone on somebody's lawn.
 
Cap is about 5 inches across Stem about 1 inch across Pores not gills Brown spores Cap is dry, spongy
Hope that's enough.. thanks for your time

Ok, I think I've identified it as a leccinum scabrum Good eating?

It looks like it. Were there any birch trees around? To identify a Leccinum accurately you have to know what trees were growing around. They're edible, of fair quality. Many Leccinums are better after being dried.
