Glovebox - Clear lid or clear container?

Hi all,
for 2 days now, im going to different shops to locate the best container for glovebox but the best i found so far in terms of dimensions, flat bottom and height, is not clear. I can do the lid though, by just replacing most of the lid (apart the edges) with clear plexi-glass.
Do you think this is gonna be comfortable to work in, if the container itself is not clear? Cause i was thinking that when you sit on the chair to work, you wont be able to see anything! All the work has to be done standing up and looking the work from above.
What do you think??
cheers

I use a clear one which is nice cuz you can use a desk lamp next to it and its easyer to see in my opinion.
But if its not a clear one I think you will be just fine

Is the lid not clear or the container itself? If the lid isn't clear, you can always flip it over so the lid is on the bottom.

Mine is clear in the middle and frosted on the corners. Works for me. (It's not a "glove box" though, it's a still air box).

Both container and lid are not clear. But i can cut the lid out and replace it with plexiglass.
Would that be OK or is it best to have a clear container than just a clear lid?

You can cut and paste, (so to speak), but plexi-glass aint cheap. You sure you don't want to just keep looking?

That sucks. Well something will come your way. Just be ingenious yet thrifty.
Also, for making holes, you can use a very hot can to melt through. If you don't have an empty one on hand you can always go to the store and pick up a large can of tomato paste for $1.24, empty it and put on the stove. If you're hungry you can always pick up a can of beef stew to use. mmmm

i think i can get the plexiglass relatively cheap...an old friend of mine has a shop designing restaurant signs.
Ratatonic, i saw an old post here using the method you suggested for cutting the holes. cheers man...i also found nice round containers with lid to put in the holes using of course silicone to glue them in place.
believe it or not, i dont think there are many more shops stocking such containers. what did i expect from a small island in the Med?? :)

you want the clear lid and box, itll be all kinds of easier to use if you get one like that. i origially cut a hole in a non clear tote and it was a disaster. i was always trying to use it at wierd angles. save yourself the hassle, walmart carries sterilite tubs with clear box and lid for reasonable, get one.

A dark lid is not an issue. He can always flip the container over. Also, I don't think he has a Wal-Mart very close to where he is.
