Have you ever sucked the caps of Nolanea quadrata? I don't think eating them would be smart, but I like to suck on the caps, chew em up, amd spit em out. They taste rather buttery.
Beside the Nolanea the Boletes are amazing!

Nice pics Zim!
The red chanterelles up against the white lichen are beautiful, and cool find on the Chalciporus piperatus!

That taxon does not exist. Why not Mutinus caninus?

the first one is what we call Hydnum repandum var. albidum but that whole group needs to be worked on...
The little mushroom growing from a big rotten one is to stocky for a Collybia, it probably is Asterophora parasitica
What kind of trees was your orange capped leccinum growing under?
what you are calling Strobilomyces confusus? is a Leccinum, maybe L. snellii.

I think I'll pass. I usually keep plenty of butter at home.
Thanks for the encouragement, Cyano and Snork!

Thanks for calling bullshit...what I meant to say was Mutinus elegans.

I agree that this mushroom is bigger and the habit is different than Collybias I've seen growing from rotten mushroom carcasses. I believe the host mushroom was a Lactarius, but I don't see any lilac tones in the fruit.

Aspen. The bicolor and palidus were under oak. Are the tan capped ones the same species, or are they just faded specimens?

That's funny cause I knew the stalk didn't match that mushroom and looked like a Leccinum! This was growing under oak as well. I was hoping you were going to school me! Thanks.
Thanks, Karode!
