Optimal PH of growing substrate??
    #1101503 - 12/01/02 05:36 PM (22 years, 7 days ago)

hey..so what is the optimal PH of the actual growing substrate (i.e. dung, straw, compost ect)?..the faq only talks about the optimal ph of the casing layer..i did a search and came up empty-handed..the reason i'm asking is due to this thread ..he claimed results from otherwise non-working store-bought manure only after leeching it first, apperantly due to the altered ph after leeching..i'd like to experiment with some different store-bought substrate's, and try messing with the ph, thinking maybe this is one reason why some don't work, but what is the optimal ph range??..thankz..
