Really slow growth

I have had these bags for a couple months now and it seems the mycelium is growing really slow. The temp's in my room have varied from 70-86° at times. Should I break them up and spread the myc or is it to late for that.

I don't think it contaminated. Besides the little bit of yellow which I'm pretty sure is metabolites it looks healthy. But I could be wrong.

If it's taken several months to colonize, those bags are probably infected with bacteria. I bet if you opened them, they would smell like fermenting fruit or gym socks.

Every time I see mycobags they look nasty... Or someone is complaining that they are not colonizing. I dont know why people use them.

yeah, you should have broken up the grain a long time ago.

Should I still break it up and spread it around? That way I could smell the air coming out of the patch to see if its rank or has that nice mushroom smell.

It won't contam by mixing, it, so you really have nothing to lose.

I meant air will come out of the patch while I'm breaking it up and I can smell it while it's coming out to see if it's a bacterial incfection. But it won't destroy the mycelium if I break it up this late?

Nah, you won't destroy it. Mycelium is awesome like that.

Nice, thanks for the input! I'll try it on one bag and see how it goes.
