Trays not fruiting
    #1101309 - 12/01/02 03:33 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

I have have cased some of my brf/verm jars in trays for about a month. The mycelium has grown throughout, even over the topsoil layer, but no pins yet. There is no sign of contamination, and plenty of mycelium, does anyone know what I could change to get them to fruit. I have been giving them a good dose of light everyday along with adequate watering, any suggestions?

put them in the fridge for 24 hours. after that try to keep their temps around 23 C and humidity as high as you can get it.

You could try cold shocking it as Rhizo says or just wait a little while longer the mycellium is still tryna build its self up to form shrooms so you have a few choices to take into consideration.

Is there any kinda light on these casings?

just put it in the fridge overnight or 24 hours then try adjusting the temp to about 80 degrees F. Then the rest is just time. Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait!!!... I see some pinheads. WooHoo!!!

I think I am going to give them a couple of more days and then I'll try cold shocking them. I've been keeping them at room temp, which is about 68-70 or so. What are some methods to keeping the heat higher without raising my electricity bill through the roof. Heat pad or something? What are some methods that you guys use? Anyway, thanks so far for the tips, . . .

Yeah, I do give them light, I keep the closet light(where they are) for at least 6 hr's a day.  Also I leave them on the windowsil on sunny days for a few hours(is there a difference between natural sunlight, and light bulb light, does the fungus react differently).  OH well, any help is appreciated.  I've been fucking with this tray for a while and I am really ready for some results.  It'l like buying a chick dinner for a month and not getting any  Just joking ladies, anyway, thanks.

Light, humidity and a drop in temperature are all factors that induce pinning. Check to see if you have em all.
