Pressure Cooker give away!!
#11012933 - 09/07/09 02:44 AM (15 years, 4 months ago) |

I have two presto 6qt pressure cookers that i am GIVING away! both are in top notch, like new shape, good seals, clean valving, and well taken care of.
I will give them out separately not as a pair and you've gotta pay the shipping (still cheaper than buying one) I only want to give these to people who dont already have one so please.. if you already have a pressure cooker dont even bother.. Heres how i will decide who to give them to.. PM me with something bad ass that i've probably never heard about.. a local band... obscure form of art.. some form of new technology thats advancing the world.. SOMETHING!
for instance.. i was at my friends 21st.. and someone introduced me to an electronic cigarette called blucig.. i was intrigued needless to say..
and heres a little something for you to wrap your minds around: Do androids dream of electric sheep?

it wont do grain or WBS because it lacks the pressure but it does PF, liquid culture, and hpoo just fine.. i usually PC for 90 mins with those and i've had minimal contamination

bullshit, don't listen to him. i used the exact one for years, growing on WBS. i did however put a square pot holder over the weight for the last half hour. BUT, i used this exact same one for years, never had a problem... good luck to anyone needing one. don't think this is a crappy PC, it'll work for ya just fine, no matter what your using.

I have the exact one and have done wbs pints with success. It takes longer @10 psi. If you do g2g the jars will colonize faster. So I don't do MS inoculation with WBS period anymore. I go brf jar>grain>grain>grain>whatever You can effectively sterilize WBS with this PC...

well some of my jars got sour... I actually rinsed them out with bleach water and spawned them with 2 brf cakes and a verm top layer and it's doing well lol... This is my first go round with a PC and WBS period. It's some nasty stuff but dirt cheap
If given the choice 15 psi and something bigger would be ideal but this is a good lil PC and someone will be able to rock some grain jars just only pint size and 2-3 at a time lol
thx for the give away !!!

I have the exact same PC and it does cook at 15psi. either read the manual or better yet go to the manufacturer's website and see for yourself. It's a decent PC, not the best or biggest by far, but good construction and reliable.
very generous giveaway.

didnt read the whole thread so sorry if this is already cleared up...
i have one of these and use it. i have never had any contamination in the last 2 months since i started on any agar, wbs, substrate bags (tms) or anything else i have used it for. i couldnt find the pressure it ran at so i sent a message to presto. the email they sent \back was that it works at 15psi. i believe it. im at 8000 feet and 90 minutes does a pint of wbs perfectly every time.

i have sent PMs but i wanted to formally announce who i will be gifting these pressure cookers. It was a tough decision because everyone that took the time to PM me had something unique, intriguing, or blatantly bad ass to share.. I thank everyone for playing along with my over-generalized "contest" and would like to congratulate Libertaire and Chadolac.. I hope these pressure cookers serve you well and help you progress with your mycological hobby!

ill let them post what they pmed.. if they care to.. partly because a lot of what was sent was in bits and pieces of conversation.. and the other part is i dont have all of the pms anymore.. just the knowledge of was sent
although i tell you that if oobajoob was about two hours earlier with his PM one of these guys would be first runner up.. he sent me one of the coolest things i've seen in quite some time.. and i will definitely get one when it becomes affordable..

WOW!! That was the most insane musical instrument I've ever seen. Crazier than a theramin even!
Here's what I sent him:
A dark cabaret band from NY that my band plays with sometimes:
www.myspace.com/darkdarkdarkband http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music.artistalbums&artistid=20686754&ap=0&albumid=11328292
My band...we need some better recordings:
www.myspace.com/themarionetteroulette
Auto-destructive art:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auto-destructive_art http://radicalart.info/destruction/metzger.html
I also mentioned Danger art, which is linked at the bottom of the A.D. art wiki.
Alex Genin, a homeless blind accordian player from Brooklyn:
http://www.myspace.com/alexgenin
Guignol, a gypsy klezmer band, also from brooklyn:
http://www.myspace.com/guignol
My old ska band. Check out the rap single that my singer made, it's pretty hilarious:
http://www.myspace.com/awfulwafflenj
Another gypsy band, also with some metal and jazz and other various influences as well:
http://www.myspace.com/estradasphere
And here's a forum that has a pretty gigantic selection of music that you can download completely for free, very directly. No torrents, just megauploads and stuff like that. You have to register a user name to access it, but like I said, it's free. The music is located under "Up teh punx", and they also have comics and some software you can download as well, located under "Up teh comix" and "Up teh compz" respectively:
http://streetlamps.perdomocore.com/index.php?showforum=13
I'm pretty sure the reason I won was because I was pretty relentless, haha. Thanks again riot!
