Pressure Cooker question: sound

Hello! One thing I haven't been able to find much information about anywhere on the web is how much sound a pressure cooker will make while it is under pressure and cooking. I don't want to wake up my wife.
Anybody used a "WearEver" pressure cooker before? Holds 6 quarts (4 1pint jars at a time). 10psi. Was only 35 bucks at walmart.

Probably depends on the design, but mine makes lots of bubbling and steaming that's fairly noisy in the kitchen, but probably wouldn't be too bad through a closed door.

if its the rocker type design.. you should control the temp on the stove so that it is relatively quite and the valve only rocks slightly... if your cooker is hissing and jiggling a lot that is a sign that your boiling off all of the water (bad).. plus if there is pressure leaking past the valve that means there is too much.. and the temp should be managed better...

Old school All Americans with the petcock release, and even the newer All American sterilizers are super quiet.

Shoot me a pm if you would like a powerful custom laser built. 4th pic is a 1.3W 445nm laser burning thru some plastic makeup containers. Yes I was wearing proper safety goggles, otherwise I would be blind right now.

i thought you needed the weight to jiggle once per minute. i havent had a problem with it boiling dry at all.
mabey im over doing it and i could get away with a lower stove setting. i just figure better safe than sorry...
