Patchy colinisation on Coir
    #11008715 - 09/06/09 10:53 AM (15 years, 4 months ago)

I used colinisated WBS Grain,in these small plastic containers. The problem im having is patchy growth on the coir, the mycelium seems to have difficultly colinising it and does it in very concentrated patches, even to the extent where its just decided to pin.

As seen in the photo.

Why is this?

idk, the one i have going right now did the exact same thing. it colonized very rapidly, but in thick clumps here and there, with very thin ammounts of mycellium connecting the clumps. the only difference between yours and mine is i used a BRF cake instead of WBS.

im curious also, mine is pinning and it dosent seem to be 100% colonized.

Proabably it was doing good until the bacteria caught up.  Does it smell weird?  Are the edges of the clumps smooth and defined like a "wall"?
