Big n chunky perlite, feels dry.

Hello all, i've got a small tupperware container with perlite humidification. i recently went from using the miracle grow perlite to big and chunky perlite. i soaked it in a pot and strained excess water out of it. i think i strained it too much though, it feels dry and seems to not humidify to its full potential. I get 95-100% humidity, although i dont trust my hygrometer.

i was just going to rehydrate it, but i was wondering how much water i should leave in the perlite when i strain it. I dont want water standing in the bottom.

i just  soak my perlite and let it strain till it stops dripping. you replace the moisture by misting a few times a day when you fan. this way you never have dry perlite

put some holes in the bottom of the container in case there's too much water it can just drain out.

Its supposed to be strained well I'm sure your fine if not then mist the perlite. Perlite doesn't really feel wet its not supposed to its basically just moist the surface of the perlite has a small coating of water on it so when air passes through it it evaporates making humidity
