Wow. Forget mantras like "the customer is always right" in zappa's world it's "The capitalists are always right... Always"
I wonder if he gets tired of repeating these mantras to himself or if it's the convincing himself that he is a wealthy capitalist that is the problem.
I don't feel like debating any straw men today, no thanks.

Unemployment certainly is. But weren't we promised something by the One and other Dems who didn't read it regarding unemployment and the Porkulus bill?

Investing is about confidence. No confidence, no investing. Given the scapegoating of investors by the bum-pandering left why would they put anything on the table now? Answer. They don't. Not enough, anyway. And thus unemployment has gone through the roof. Nice job, Dems. How's that sub minimum wage job look now? Better than the NO job you have. Get in a bread line before it's all gone. What fun. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-funemployment4-2009jun04,0,7581684.story

Saudi Arabia Is Sick Of Hearing The U.S. Talk About Energy Independence http://www.businessinsider.com/stop-talking-about-energy-independence-2009-8
Former Saudi Arabia ambassador Prince Turki al-Faisal takes out a rhetorical bazooka and aims it right at Barack Obama and his administration in this month's Foreign Policy magazine.
In a blistering essay, he calls Obama a demagogue, and says the United States is heading for a "disaster" if it continues leading its people towards the "mirage" of energy independence.

This of course begs the question, what should an INTELLIGENT and WELL INFORMED investor have confidence in? Someone who is interested, not in turning over a stock on mere valuation changes, but on the PRODUCTIVITY of a company (read: profit making potential) has no rational reason to invest in most companies at the moment.
We are suffering the after effects of an intense and sustained period of debt based valuations. Meaning, we have morphed from a capitalist based economy (increasing capital accumulation, which in turn can be used to invest in productive capacity) to a debt based monetary valuation economy (see the Tech and Real Estate bubbles). We seem to we have reached the limits (actually passed them) of speculation on future valuations because the debt can no longer be serviced. Hence we are experiencing the beginnings of a grand contraction. It remains to be seen if the bubble can be re-inflated by the machinations of the banking and finance cartels and for how long such an new bubble will last.

A depressing and sobering prospect... for Americans.
