Help !! Something went terribly wrong!!
    #1100618 - 12/01/02 12:18 PM (14 years, 8 months ago)

HI ! I Have about 20 PF style Cakes that I succesfully colonized without a problem. They have now been inside a Cool Mist Humidefied Chamber for over 2 weeks and don't show one bit growth NO PINHEADS. What the hell could have gone wrong her. The temperature was 15-20 C for about the first week and the I raised it to 25 C. The are sitting on wet perlite and seem like the look healthy, they have no sign of a Too Humid Too dry situation (there are no fussy spots on them or bluish color)
Could it be that the cakes have been exposed too mush light ?? By this I mean to mush as in too many hours. Because to room they are in has always has some some light on, so they have had ALOT more light then dark hours(but never too strong light)
  I NEED HELP
              THANKS

I ahve a cake that is doing the same thing Its been birthed for almost 3 weeks and still nothing but patience is the key virtue is this hobby
Just wait it out and you will be successful in your findings

dude, keep the temps steady between 22.5 - 23C. don't worry so much about light, i just use a night light. if they are healthy then they will pin. don't use the cool mist for main humidity, use perlite. i use perlite and run an ultrasonic while i have the lid off for maintenance.

I agree with Rhizo about the cool mist humidifier, in my experience it has only made things more complicated. Stick to the perlite and a definite light/dark schedule.

Are you guys saying that misting the sides of the *box* isn't a good idea?
(I bought perlite, but intended to mist the sides a 1-2-3 times a day)

I don't see much of a reason to mist if your using perlite. But I also could be very wrong. Somebody please prove me wrong.
