A random thought about life after death

i was just thinking about bouncing from dream world to this physical world and back every time we sleep or trip. what if when we die we fall into the stage of pure dream state(transforming that into the physical realm), and from there fall into another stage?

pure imagination of course :crazy2:

Maybe death is more like waking up from a dream, one that was your whole life. It seemed really important at the time, but then you just pop out of it and go "wow, that was weird" and continue about in that higher reality as if nothing had really happened.

The life we are given is all there is.

Make the most of it.

There's something romantic about believing a fantasy in which a God embraces us with angels and harps, or we get our virgins, or we come back to live it all over again, or we reach a mythical paradise because we've fulfilled our spiritual duty, or we go to a place that's just like dreaming or tripping.

I just don't buy it. I'd like to believe some of it, or most of it, or all of one... but to me it's like trying to understand eternity or infinity.

Nah, your brain is the only reason you dream.  So obviously when the brain dies you won't even dream anymore.

I don't buy the cozy notion that eternal paradise awaits us after death, but I also don't buy the idea that this life is all we get and death is nothingness. It seems like a product of man's limited perspective and imagination to assume death is nothingness. We once thought the world was flat, and if one reached the edge they would fall off into space. I see our views on death as similar: we can't see past the edge, so we assume there must be nothing there.

and sounds like it would make a good science-fiction story :smile:

however,
i'm thinking that the quality of "life after death"
is probably quite a lot like that of "life before birth,"
and i've never seen anyone wonder about that.

in either case,
there's no real data,
just our imaginations; but
we will assuredly find out all about it :smile:

This man is correct. Live your life like it's the only one you'll ever have because it's the least you can do.

but seriously. there is nothing wrong with imagination. There is something wrong with closing your mind off to possibilities though to possibly gain some interesting insight.

Point is, everything we say is all speculation when it involves what happens after we die
