will they find their way?

i have 2 brf cakes that are fruiting on the bottom. i turned one of them on its side where there aren't any pins, but the other one has pins on the top, bottom, and sides. there are some nice pins on the bottom. should i turn it on its side too? or will those pins find their way out? what do you think? i guess i should probably sacrifice which ever side has the least pins, but maybe i don't need to do anything. idk. :mushroom2:

Don't mess with them.  The substrate pins in the best places and they'll find their way out just fine.  I've seen mushrooms push 40 pound rocks up and out of their way.

I agree with RR though, I have always just left them alone.. the fruits will do what they need to do.

i dont leave them alone. i flip them on their sides. and then the pins grow like little champions.

Human nature is not a machine to be built after a model, and set to do exactly the work prescribed for it, but a tree, which requires to grow and develop itself on all sides, according to the tendency of the inward forces which make it a living thing.

good point. that's what i figured but i wasn't sure if i should put the cake over on its side myself or let a mushie push it up over from the bottom into a less "strategic" position. thanks.
