Sounds like you need more air exchange, a humidifier alone may not be adequate, are you fanning, and if so, how often?

Do you have exhaust vents for the CO2 to escape through?

It is normal to have some aborts. Did you have similiar results using other strains?

I just had the same problem myself - I think it's excess humidity. I stopped misting as heavily and things seem to be going much better for my second flushes.

Try lowering your humidity.

Fanning more often will help kill two birds with one stone, it will give you more air exchange, plus it will lower your humidity somewhat. Good Luck.

Try getting a small airpump, I have a couple Jet Stream 600's, which are rated for an 18L aquarium, and they seem to do a really decent job - I'm no pro and I still have disappointing yields most of the time but thats because I'm new. I am confident that air pumps in my setup eliminate the need to fan, and as SkiKid said, they also keep humidity down.

just about everything in the first paragraph i would say. A thicker casing layer usually helps me produce bigger fruits. There are less aborts too, so the total yield is the same.

well one other thing u can try to ruduce the amount of fanning is ad a bubbler system it ads fresh air. also what the hell is wrong with aborts. they are supose to be more potent then regular mushies. if u have alot of aborts its usually lack of fresh air.

In reply to:

I've got a rubbermaid with a window in the lid hooked up to a coolmist via some tubing for air exchange and humidity. It runs for 3 minutes every 1h50m. The walls are covered in condensation. I have to clean up small pools of water about once every 3 days, so I'm assuming lack of humidity is not my problem. Also, there is no contamination at all, so that is ruled out as well.

That's what i ment. You were flooding it with moisture. There's no need for a humidifyer in an area that small. If you had a grow room or at least a closet system you might need one. I usually don't even mist rubbermaid tubs. Oh, and i have found that it's easier to install a 4-watt christmas/night light instead of the window.

99% genetics of the spore match - sometimes they just dont perform very well. Cubensis will fruit under a variety of conditions and that many aborts are more likely a result of extremely low humidity than extremely high humidity - especially with that small casing layer.
