maybe because old dark, shadowy, creaky, leaky, drafty, houses make all the same sounds a ghost would need to make. Less work for the ghost.

hmm i never thought of that, this is all i could find
Quote:
Estimates are that between 69 billion and 110 billion people have populated the earth since about one million years ago.
Assuming that we start counting from about 55,000 B.C. , the time when modern home sapiens appeared on the earth (not from 1,700,000 B.C., when the ancestors of Homo sapiens appeared, or several million years ago hominids were present), talking into account that all population data are a rough estimate, and assuming a constant growth rate applied to each period up to modern times, it has been estimated that a total of 106 billion people have been born since the dawn of the human race.

That certainly shows intelligent planning.

And even more graves... Our groundwater is flavored with the souls of our ancestors. Sheesh! No wonder most people prefer other beverages to water.

Where are these memories "stored"?

I believe they're stored in morphic fields.
Quote:
Morphic field is a term introduced by British scientist Rupert Sheldrake, the major proponent of this concept, through his Hypothesis of Formative Causation in the early 1980s. It is described as consisting of patterns that govern the development of forms, structures and arrangements.
