For the past couple weeks...

All I've been listening to really is Lotus, Phish, STS9, EOTO, Bassnectar, String Cheese Incident, Younger Brother, Shpongle, Entheogenic, and Colonel Clayopool's Bucket of Bernie Brains. I even went to not one but 2 Phish shows!!

I think it may be too late to save me, but save yourselves! Don't becomes hippies!!

Fair point, there is a distinction between psychedelic user and hippie.

I was really impressed with SCI actually. I didn't really know anything about EOTO, or SCI for that matter since the jam scene is one I'm not familiar with. I liked how they incorporated newer shit into their act, and then I heard EOTO and it all made sense.

The Dead didn't do it nearly as well.

whaaat??

don't get me wrong, i can hippie it out at concerts.  i've seen sts9 and bassnecter and p.groove and string cheese.  but i just can't really get into it unless it's live.

also, this is completely different from the music i envisioned you seeking out on obscure indie blogs.

it's been interesting watching your musical tastes transform.  i seem to remember when you were a newbish cat on the shroomery, you'd only listen to like rap and jazz.

I rarely listen to Grateful Dead these days. If I have an urge to go in that direction, I usually put in some JGB. I love that gospel feel that JGB has over the traditional folk feel of The Dead.
