it is OK but some strains like certain conditions more than others so try and keep those together

Not only can you put multiple so-called 'strains' in the same FC, you can mix them in the same substrate. I'd give ten to one odds that you could do five cakes of strain A, five cakes of strain B, and five of strain A & B mixed, and you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart. RR

Idk, I hate to disagree, but, I have Chitwans, PE, and B+ all in the same fc and they all have very distinct characteristics.
The Caps on the chits is very distinct from the b+ and the pe... well its just pe...

IME
Chitwans - longer skinnier stipes, smaller almost pointed smooth caps. No sign of the veil after it tears
B+ - Very textured large caps much thicker stipes and likes to grow in clusters. veil turns purple and stays attached to the stem
PE - fuckin mutants and very odd and interesting fruits.

"except PE" is pretty much applicable to any discussion of this sort.

True, that's why I didn't really elaborate more on it. But, I do think it should be mentioned if said grower is interested in observing different strains.

i've crushed up colonized wbs jars of b+, SA, and a couple more, once for a personal little experiment, and made a large bulk monotub, i cased it, and let it fruit, i had a very very hard time trying to depict what was what when it was done. All the fruits looked pretty much the same. There were a few that had lighter colored caps than the rest, but this all was done multispore also. I'm not sure if one myc, was stronger or more aggressive than the rest, and took over the rest... hell, i couldn't tell ya what exactly happens, but i do know, even when mixing strains into the same sub, it's very hard to try and pick out different strains out of the same crowd...

Yeah, it's much easier when doing a strain per cake to observe differences.
