2 weeks in fc and hardly nothing

I have 6, going on 8, cakes in my terrarium. it's been about 2 weeks in there and theres hardly any growth to speak of. the tops of 4 of the cakes are starting to turn really blue and im kinda starting to worry. this is my first time ever doing this. i dunked and rolled all but 1 cake and even the one that wasn't dunked is turning blue all over...any ideas, suggestions? my humidity is always between 94 and 99 and the temp has been steady in the low to mid 70's. um it's a shotgun type of fc and i fan 2 to 3 times a day, a layer of perilite at the bottom. idk i feel like ive done everything the way it should be done with no reward thus far...any help would be much appreciated

Blue cakes = too dry. You may need to re-dunk them, check to see if they feel light. And calibrate your hygrometer to 98% using a damp towel. No matter how accurate it is or isn't, a fresh calibration is a good idea.
You have a fan in the room?

How long did you wait to birth those cakes after you saw 100% colinization?

they are a strain from costa rica. i guess i don't really know why i dunked all of them. it made sense to re-hydrate to maybe get a higher yield but kinda seems like an un-necessary step. i checked the cakes and they don't really feel too light. pretty much the same as when i put them in the FC. and i waited about a week after full colonization. anything else that could help?? thanks for replying by the way...it means alot...oh yea there is a fan in the room but it's not pointed at the FC, the fan sits like 6 feet in front of it and oscilates away from it

You should dunk the cakes. That was the right move. How long did you dunk them for??

Well they pretty much got it covered from what i can see. Dunking for 24 hours can do wonders for the mycelium. I have read that not all mycl will fruit, esp if its from MS...

Like tacoherder said, 24 hours is the charm. How many holes ya got in your FC? Any pics? And Doc_T asked about the fans and suggest a reset on the hygrometer. So have you reset it? And do you have fans in the room?
Also, what kind of climate do you live in? Moist, dry, rainy?

there's alot of holes in my fc. i drilled every 2 inches but it's kept the humidity up. and i live in south dakota, so whatever you want to classify that as...prolly mostly dry, but weather up here is so unpredictable the way it is. yea i reset the hygrometer and the fan is blowing away from the fc...and i woiuld have pics for you but my fucking camera got stolen out of my car a couple nites ago. so gay...might as well have burned $350 but that's a seperate issue

so what do you think about re-dunking at this point? lets see, saturday will be 2 weeks for the 1st cake, which has 2 or 3 spots growing, but i don't know if it's a pin... it looks like a big white wart. then the other cakes followed each couple days after the first being put in the fc, which show maybe 1 spot

If they're blue, they're dry. Re-dunk. You've never mentioned your lighting setup. RR

Yeah bro, sometimes you just have to be patient. Multi-strains never cease to confuse and amaze me. It sounds like you are doing everything right so I don't have any advice except dont over mist (what I did on my first grow) and keep the faith. Honestly, first grows can be frustrating but take it all in stride and learn from everything that happens and keep on watching the vids www.mushroomvideos.com and and using the search engine and listening to the TC's and you will be successful.

God I hate it when RR beats me to a post with better advice. Just kidding, I love it.

as for light i live in a studio apartment and there's not room for shit so like an 8 hour dark period is about what they get...not that i really want that but it's more i have no other choice due to lack of space...i guess i'll try to wait it out awhile and see what's going to happen...
