Grain 2 grain with BRF?? using foodsaver bags!!
    #1098890 - 11/30/02 06:46 PM (15 years, 4 months ago)

helloooooo!! I've got a bunch of half colonized quart jars of BRF, the strains are B+ and Gulf coast. I've also got 4 large sterilized bags of brf verm and straw.. When i made the quart jars, i made them much too wet, and the myc seems to be haulted around the half way point in the jars.. so what i was planning on doing was making a glove box and transfering some of the myc from the jars into the bags. 2 bags of B+ and 2 bags of Gulf coast. Is a transfer like this possible with BRF? my bags are sealed at the bottom using an iron (works perfect) and sealed at the top with an extremly tight knot and a wad of polyfill shuved in there. Has anyone ever tried this before? Cuz if it works, those 4 bags are going to be transfered into at least 40 bags........ now thats alot of spawn! at least 100 pint jars. no wait.. at least 200 pint jars... cuz each bag holds like 6 pints at least. well, any opinions.. post it up.

I'm sorta in the same situation. I went from grain to straw with some halted jars now I want to use the partially colonized straw to do a shit load but I'm hesitant to put that much more stress on the mycelium.
