My First Sterilite of Delight! ( In Progress) Advice Welcome

Well this is my first "real" grow ( I have grown a couple bags already). I have some other, bigger monos going right now, but this one was the first one ready to fruit. I started to fruit this on Aug.28th. I had tiny pins on the second day, on the third very visible pins. My substrate is HMCompost. Not having much experience and I can even tell HMC is some high quality shit. I peeked into my trash bag several days after starting colonization, and the mycelium growth was jsut intense.
Does everything look ok? Does it look dry? There is water droplets on the mycelium, and it's in humid conditions. I think these are Cambodians, does anyone know for sure? On my first couple spawn bags, I did not directly label the bag. But I do know these are either Cambodians or Golden Teachers. Does the real cottony mycelium, most noticeable in upper right hand corner, just look like thick healthy mycelium? I hope it isn't cobweb mold. I had some of that in a couple spawn bags, so I know what it looks like. This does not look as strandy as cobweb. What do you think?

Yeah I'm pretty sure they are Cambos. And thanks a lot. I'm so glad that I jumped straight into bulk.

Damn these things are growing fast! I have one that is hitting the top of the lid now. Will this stall the fruit's growth in anyway? Or will it just sort of turn against the lid and keep growing? I would take the top off of it, but this being my first mono I don't want it to be taken over by any contams. Any insight into this matter would be very much appreciated.

pretty sure the lid is only supposed to be taken off to harvest the mature fruits... things are looking pretty good...

Well, if your growing area has high humidity, I'm pretty sure you can take the lid off. However, this is a risk for contams. But supposedly at this point the mycelium has a pretty strong defense built up? Also, the only reason I'm even asking about taking it off is because fruits are going to be hitting the top of the lid. One already is. I just want to know if this will stall growth or damage the fruits in any way?? Will they continue to grow if they are hitting the lid?

I wish you knew if they where golden teacher or not though cuz I just innoced my GT's les than a week ago and they dont seem to be growing faster then the PE'S. and like I said they have been fruited for a few now. Awsome growing man.

don't worry about your fruits. They will keep growing, but if you have a thing for straight mushrooms, you can just take a clear garbage bag and cut it to fit just right around the rim of the FC. it will rest atop your tallest mushrooms without limiting their growth. Kind of like the showercap over the bucket tek.

cobweb moves really fast...never had personal exp. with cobweb contamination, but from the contaminants section of shroomery's FAQ section, it mentions that cobweb moves very fast, growing over whatever it reaches. so you would see the dramatic fuzzy growth. your fuzzy myc could be part of the growth cycle, i recall reading that myc will sometimes colonize bulk substrates casing layer in a manner that resembles cobweb.getting worse with higher amounts of humidity. and your fruits getting tall...doesnt that have to do with lack of light? making the fruits stretch to reach better light? if im wrong here...someone school me!

Opening a monotub won't result in contaminants. Colonized bulk substrates are pretty resistant to competitor molds, as long as you provide ample FAE.
The reason most monotub teks tell folks not to open the tub until harvest is because of humidity loss.

Nice tip Sebastien. Ok, so I took this first pic 7 A.M. this morning, these things are on a roll!
And this pic was taken at 7 P.M. this evening. The caps lightened up in color, and they grew some more! So can anyone tell if these are Cambos for sure yet? I like their little white markings on the cap. Also, do Cambos not get real tall? Because some of these have already formed into "lamp post" mode. In a book I have, Psilocybin Mushroom Handbook ( Which is a fairly good book, it's definitely nothing like TMC though), the authors claim that when the fruits are in the lamp post stage ( which means veil is going to be opening very soon) they have the highest psilocybin content in them, and should be picked then. Does anyone think that this is true? I would love to hear what RR has to say on this matter.

RR, or any trusted cultivator, or really anyone else who knows for sure, is psilocybin content at its peak during the lamp post stage? I greatly appreciate your answer.

Well, woke up to this this morning,
Unfortunately the caps opened overnight, discharging spores,
Has this ruined my second flush? From what I've read, some people say yes, and some say no. Does anyone know for sure? Also, can anyone identify these as Cambos yet? I'm still happy with the yield, almost 400 grams wet. Well, all I got is one of those mini metal keychain scales, so weighing large amounts is a little hard, I love growing shrooms, the actual process is really fun. Hopefully this tub is not messed up from spores dropping, A big thanks to everyone who has helped me out here!

Hell ya man! Those look prime! Spores wont really screw your 2nd flush that much, you may not get a whole lot of new pins in the spots covered by spores, but it'll still pump out some more boomers! From the pics, It doesnt look like they spooged to hard, your fine

Thanks a lot Mana. I was looking at some Golden Teacher pics here, and my pins here look exactly like them. Can anyone confirm if these are GT?

I'm betting on cambo. Compare the shape of the heads on yours to this pic of gt:
