So I was browsing some forums an hour ago, didn't download anything, just joined a forum.
At which point my computer goes bleep and restarts.
I'm thinking, "shit"
Now, I started google chrome again, and it restarts AGAIN.
This time before entering my password I unplug my internet. Super fast start up, no restarts. Obviously a virus. Worm/Trojan, whatever.
After googling some stuff, I get a pop up (Not from internet, but on my pc) "Download anti-virus 2010" Obviously a trojan.
How do I get rid of these, whats the best anti virus? I don't have any at the moment.

Back up your data, reinstall the os and all applications, install all the updates to all the applications, install secunia psi, install all the updates it tells you to, keep installing all the updates to everything (especially the ones your web browser calls) so it doesn't happen again.

No. that's mega overkill bud.
Try www.malwarebytes.org Its free, and will clean you system up.
also a scan with spybot, also a free good program
http://download.cnet.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html
turn off your system restore before scanning by : right clicking my computer, properties, system restore. click "turn off system" restore and let it delete the old restore points, crap hides in there.
good luck

There are thousands of places that hackers and viruses can install a backdoor on a system. Once they have admin/root access, its pretty much game over - they can do whatever they want.
Since it isn't possible to know which ones they used, the only option that is sure to kick them out is to reinstall the OS.
Trying to clean and uninstall the virus sometimes works. Sometimes not. Depends on the virus, how well the AV software identifies it, how many viruses there are, the skill of the virus writer, etc.
It comes down to this - how sure do you want to be that your system is secure?
If you don't really care, then go ahead and try to clean it. If you have sensitive information or do online banking or connect to high security systems, its important to reinstall after a compromise.

im with alan on this one.... whatever is causing you to restart will most likely cause you to restart when scanning... i would suggest an up to date boot time scanner or a reimage (what alan said).. malware bytes is very good...... but some pieces of malware out there are better....
EDIT: FREAKIN REIMAGE YOUR SYSTEM!.. THERE IS NO POINT IN A BOOT TIME SCAN....
