Hallucinating on SSRI right now...

I don't know why or how its possible but I am hallucinating on Luvox 25mg. I am getting the surface moving effects like experienced on shrooms, seeing objects inflate like a balloon, objects when looked at become dark colored as if a shadow is preventing me from seeing the color, I have had a few OEVs and CEVs so far Also occasionally getting tingles/goosebumps all over my body. I also am getting some mad tracers/afterimages.

I don't know why this is happening but I took the fluvoxamine (second dose of the day) a few hours ago.


Please help, I need info.

I am experienced with mushroom trips, so this isn't like some weird ass placebo, I mean I was IMing someone about college when I realized it.

I am being serious though, I don't know if there would be some way I have Serotonin Syndrome because I haven't taken anything that should have caused it...

I haven't tripped in about a year. I did have a very slight HPPD after some trips but it went away after a few months. I don't see how I would have HPPD when I haven't taken any hallucinogens in such a long time...

This is also the second night this has happened in a row. Last night I just dismissed it because I wanted to go to bed.

Idk either. I haven't tripped in a while either but lately when I get stoned I get some killer weird shit going on with me that resembles a comeup to a massive dose mushroom trip.

I have never heard of that drug you took though, so, I am just gonna make my way out of this thread hahaha.

SSRI's are bad news for a lotttttt of people.

Yea I ant to not take it, but the anxiety diorder I have causes me to bite my nails and fingers very badly. Currently my fingers are completely mangled. I don't know if a benzo would be safer than SSRI but it definitely would be nice to be able to roll, trip, and get some euphoria at the same time. Both are really fucking addictive, no?

Yea like I said I've done mushrooms before so this doesn't bother me at all, its more the fact that I am getting visuals from an SSRI that has me worried, something that should definitely not be happening.

I've actually heard of SSRIs doing that before. Can't remember where, so its of little help.

Interestingly enough it is getting stronger, although I thought it was not. Closed eye visuals are now lots of lines like looking high up down upon a mazy or labyrinth. Doors are wavy and breathing.

Yes rolling while on SSRIs can cause Serotonin Syndrome, and you won't be able to roll anyways.

If marijuana doesnt cause paranoia (fear of prosecution, mind reading) then I would say, use marijuana. Marijuana is great for anxiety disorders, and I have myself and studies to show for it.

Unfortunately it does cause pretty intense paranoia, and I don't really want to have to be high 24/7, because the disorder is causing self harm and I cannot control it without medicine.

Luckily I am seeing my psych on wed. maybe he will just switch me to klonopin which he was going to prescribe to me for panic attacks, although because I was starting a new medicine he didn't give it.

My psych is fucked up, all he told me was oh the worst it can do is give you a small stomach ache. He never told my how addictive it is, or anything about it. So I took it thinking it was safe.

All fucking psychiatrists do that... how do you think the pharmaceutical racket makes so much money

besides, SSRI's are essentially mind control drugs, they not only make you stop concentrating on things in your life that suck and need to be fixed but they also make you docile and more receptive to commands from others

I remeber when I was in rehab boarding school and they put me on that shit for depression. First few weeks it didn't do anything. Then my shrink doubled the dose and for three days straight I could not contol any impulse I had.
The first thing that popped in my head I would do, I even freaked out at this one kid and beat him to within an inch of his lifex. Its odd that only 20 mg of that shit can make me do that when I weigh 200 pounds and have a crazy tolerance to everything. else.
They reduced the dose after that and I took it for another year and the only thing that helped me with depression was to stop taking that shite

Some people have adverse reactions to their ssri medicine, I was in the 1% of people who had that same reaction to zoloft. The solution? I switched to effexor and haven't had a problem since. Everyone is made differently, go talk to your doctor.

I also must interject with the claims that anti-depressants are bad for you and hide bad things in your life instead of fixing them. I take SSRI's due to anxiety/panic attacks from which I have suffered through since I was a child. As soon as I took my effexor my acne went away and I can finally concentrate fully to tasks I need to complete. So word to the wise, don't hate on something just because you don't understand it.

Yeah man,I am not saying that these drugs are good...but you do not take them because you are healthy...there is a problem and sure they have lots of adverse reactions but these sometimes are outweighed by the problem you are treating with them.

If you have such a bad reaction to them you should definitely talk to your doctor and maybe stop taking them if it is interfering with your life until you do.As for benzos,they are not something you want to get addicted to,they will make things good for a while until tolerance builds and after that you will have to keep upping the dose or go off them and that's when your initial problem will seem like a walk in the park,they will make things worse.Not good IMO for the long term,only for short term infrequent use.

Talk to your doctor,work with him and don't buy into this NWO conspiracy crap,research and think for yourself.

like I stated before I have taken multiple antidepressants and antipsychotics too. i've tried zoloft(SSRI), cymbalta(SNRI), remeron(TeCA), buspar, abilify, geodon, and some other shit i don't remember. absolutely none of them helped with my depression and all of them made my HPPD considerably worse (especially remeron, fuck)

And i fully understand how these medications work. SSRI's essentially help your brain not recycle and waste as much serotonin (mood regulating neurotransmitter) and instead use as much as possible. SNRI's essentially do the same but with both serotonin and norepinephrine (energy regulating neurotransmitter). TCA's and TeCA's do the same but with serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine.

Antipsychotics work differently though. Many of them put a damper on dopamine absorption in the brain and also many of them put a damper on the serotonin receptors too.


If SSRI's have worked for you, good for you man, i'm glad you've found something that works for you. but rarely do doctors describe the risks of these medications and they can have pretty bad side effects. Psychiatrists tend to think of the human brain as very malleable and easy to mainpulate, but it's not. the mind is very malleable and easy to manipulate but the brain is a physical structure of transmitters and receptors and it's like poking your finger in play-doh versus trying to change the foundation on a skyscraper. i don't know, i'm rambling once again
