Amazed at how strong mycl is...UPDATE W/ PICS

OK, so my 1/2 pint of PES Amazonian that i had in the Ziploc bag finished its first flush. As some may remember i was having a MAJOR Fae and GE problem. So my first flush was about 2.5 grams dry.  I was kinda mad and said screw sanitary conditions for a good experiment.

I took the block of cased sub and dunked it for 24 hours.  Then i put it in my terrarium that has some of my mini jade trees.  It has about 2.5 inches of perlite and you can clearly see green all all around the perlite.  Well about 3 days later i looked and to my amazement there was pins everywhere.  Then yesterday they just exploded.  As of today i have nice looking mushrooms that are in decent size.  Ill post all the pics when i get to work at 6pm( it 2pm right now in TX).

It just sux cause i wont see them again till tomorrow after i get off work so my gf may have to pic them for me...  Just wanted to give a little teaser for the pics to come:grin:.... w/ my 2.0 mega pixel phone camera... Does anyone in Europe have the Motorola Ming  BTW?  Mine keeps beeping every now and then for no reason.

OK here it is.



















the last three were from this morning, so im going to have my gf possibly pick them if they are ready.  Hopefully she doesnt come home to it full of spores, but i doubt that will happen...

Awesome.. I know what its like to have to leave beautiful fruiting cakes in their prime for a day or two. You actually miss them, but its so exciting when you get back and find that you have monsters!

So you put your cakes in a terrerium that also contained some mini trees eh...?  I wonder how much of an impact that had on the amount of co2 in the air.  I'm sure that's no alternative for FAE(fanning), but could they(the trees) be the reason for the pinning, as they would have undoubtedly lowered co2, and upped the o2 levels...actually,does that constitute FAE, replacing the co2 with o2?

Well i know there is no way the trees are providing enough fae. But i am able to fan better and it allows less co2 built up around the mushrooms. And i mist.

You think there could be a plant that uses enough co2/generates enough o2 to be considered FAE?  Bamboo maybe, as it grows real fast...?

cubes will grow in the same condition weed clones will

when i put cakes in my cloner, they do well :vaped:

keep plants and shrooms seperate. plants need trich. to grow. this is not a good idea. trich isnt dangerous at all but it will fuck up a good grow.

I knew that long time ago. thats why i said this was just a little expirement since i didnt really care what was going to happen.  The perlite is full of trich, no secret there.

So after i harvested the second flush i didnt feel like dunking it again, so i just heavily misted.  Well after about a week of having just some tiny pins i went ahead and dunked the substrate. I dunked it for just 12 hours this time. About 3 days later i got these...  :shrug:



BTW still in a terrarium filled w/ bonsai trees and trich. i dunked another 1/2 pint i cased that was doing nothing for 2 weeks.  Now i got little mushrooms over it.  You can kinda see it in the first picture.

I birthed a cake of GT about a week ago and noticed some pins last night so I dunked it for a few hours in an empty half-pint.  About five minutes ago I decided to put it on a jar lid instead of the foil it had been sitting on and noticed 20+ pins growing from the bottom of the cake that weren't there when I dunked last night.  Had to put the cake on it's side at one of the few parts where it wasn't showing pinning (You've gone completely sideways on me, man).  Looks like this could be a monster first flush.  Anyone else try this?  This seems to me to be a testament to the strength and perseverance of mycelium.  Truly amazing stuff.

I would leave it the way it was. The reason the pins are growing on the bottom is that the bottom is the most suitable ...

wow...that was a fast response.  I decided to take that part out...might add it back though.  Lol.  I usually edit my posts several times because I'm so picky about what goes into them.

By "bottom" I mean from underneath the cake...as in the cake is sitting on the pins.  Still, should I put it back?
