Baby semilanceatas maybe?
    #10971057 -

So I found those baby shrooms growing on my backyard lawn.. maybe baby semilanceatas?

Im still waiting for them to grow up more, but if anyone can identify them already I would be more than happy!

(Hopefully I resized those pictures enough)

Psilocybe semilanceata. Congrats for having them in your backyard. I envy you.
BTW, they will NOT grow more. If you look at their physical features you'll see that they are fully grown. Some mushrooms simply don't grow bigger, but those are fully matured. If you leave them they will rot.

Just wait. There are 7 now. Pick them and dry them. They don't lose much potency, for they contain mainly psilocybin and almost no psilocin. The latter is degraded much more during drying. The season has just started. In 2-4 weeks you should find significantly more all through the end of november/beginning of december.

wow! I'm jealous!
I'm curious about the conditions you had the last week/days...
Is the ground wet? Did it rain?

I think it's too warm/dry here in south germany atm... :/

Well it has rained 2 times this week, both pretty heavy. Temperatures are little bit under 20 celsius in daytime. At nights its about 4-10 celsius here in south Finland  And magic mushrooms are already coming :P

Hiya, up for some more identification?
I also found shrooms on my backyard, and wondering if these are the real thing.
Thanks beforehand

possibly Inocybe sp. the larger one looks almost like a small Agaricus.

next time, post your own id request instead of thread-jacking, but be sure to provide a full description and be sure to make spore prints.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

If you compare them again you will notice that they are as different from Psilocybe semilanceata as a horse is different from a giraffe.

ok, sorry :frown:  I'm not too familiar to threads and this stuff. Could you also explain 'spore prints'?

cut off the stem where the cap and top of stem meet, place cap gills side down on a piece of paper or foil, cover with a drinking glass to keep humidity up and airflow minimal, wait 15 minutes to many hours, examine color of spore deposit on paper...

usually best to leave it several hours. just try to forget it's there. it cuts down on the habit of trying to interpret prints that aren't deep enough yet.
