my very first EVER pin! Isn't it amazing.... Actually there's a couple more throughout- quite a few side pinners... but I don't care were they pin, as long as I'm doing something right!

I know- last night I just got so impatient I literally told my tubs, "Just grow our own damn mushrooms, I'm done with you!" And lo and behold, they listened.

I actually just zoomed in through one of the holes. It could have been hard to see without the framing by the hole itself.

So here they are about 4 days later. My one tiny little pin is not alone in this world any longer.

looking nice. It seems your getting quite a bit of side pinning. Have you considered blocking the light off around the substrate?

Perlite, rye, and vermiculite. Next time, I'm going to tape up the side bottoms, as well as putting the grain on top of something like a plastic bag instead of directly on the perlite. At least that's what I've seen most people do. Does that dry it out at all?

Thanks homies! I plucked a bunch of the side pinners to keep them from rotting out in the water, not sure what to do with them... So I'm just gonna eat them. But when I plucked them, two hundred more pins are coming out! man, this tub is GOIN OFF- If I would've put the grain on some plastic or something, SO many other F'n pins would be sprouting up.
